This is a small brag but a good one. I was at my local Cambridge WM. They have Clairol hair dye with a bonus root touch up attached to it. The sign on the end of the aisle said 7.96. The price checker was calling me name
.....So it scanned in at 8.96. So I got free hair dye! YAY!

Free is perfect. Perhaps these companies just need to get their signage right. That would be the right thing for them to do.

Great free score, now i was wondering if you would have bought say 5 of them at 8.96 and then went to the customer service desk and said to them that the sign says 7.96 would you get them all for free or would you just get one free and the rest of them would be a 1.00back off each box?

You only get the first one free - the rest are corrected to the price it should be. Same with items over $10 - you get $10 off the first one, then the rest are corrected to the correct price. HOWEVER - you get SCOP for the first of every barcode! So...if they have different barcodes on the different colours, each different barcode would get the first one free, the rest corrected to the proper price.

Scanning Code Of Practice
if the item on the shelf has a sign for 8.99 and it rings up at a higher value the first one unique barcode is free (up to $10) all others would be the lower price. So if the shelf said $11.99 and it rings up 13.99 you would get the $10 free and only pay the $1.99 difference.
It is a voluntary program in all of Canada except Quebec where it is Law.
Hope that helps
