My friend told me that Loblaws in Bowmanville is changing to Loblaws "Great Food". This will happen this summer. Supposed to be lower prices. They are trying to compete with Walmart.
My friend talked to one of the cashiers. Apparently, they are getting less money too, when they change to "Great Food". Hmmm. THAT doesn't sound too good to me.

I think Pickering's store is already a Loblaws "Great Food". This happened late last year.

Yeah it's a creative way of sticking it to the long-time workers...gets around a set contract I think.

It's unfortunate because the company is not hurting.
Their stock fell a little with their restructuring, in preparation for Target.
But Loblaws has Joe Fresh stores opening in Manhattan!
Not too bad, IMO.
