McDonald's will no longer have stickers and cards on hot drink cups starting in August 2022 across Canada. The cards will be valid until December 31, 2023.

Thanks for the links.
This is probably to decrease their promo costs cause the stickers never expire but the points they now give do 😞😩

That said, you can redeem any collected stickers up to December 2023.
Yes, 2023, that's not a typo.

I haven't been in McDonald's this year for any drink purchases. Are the hot beverage cups now stickerless?

I am still getting them on my coffee but I'm sure they are just using up old stock so who knows how long it will last.

The official statement reads "Starting in August 2022, McDonald’s restaurants in Canada will begin to transition to hot beverage cups without Rewards stickers and cards."
The operative words here are "Starting in August..." and "begin to transition". The transition period doesn't put a fine point on a specific date.
When I asked my usual coffee lady at McD's about "what date in August" she said that means that the company (and thus the stores) will use up whatever cups they have left. Any NEW shipments of cups to the stores starting in August and going forward will no longer have the stickers, nor the peel-off cards. Depending on their inventory, this means that your store could very well still be handing out cups with stickers well into September, (or even further) until gone.
So, the change over won't happen overnight and it will vary on when each store depletes their old cup inventory.
That said, if you ARE still getting stickers, you can redeem them up until December 31 2023. *(yes, 2023... that's not a typo)

The McDonalds in Gatineau that I went to refused to honour my completed card. That didn't seem fair to me. I was buying coffee from McD's in the past because of those stickers; I have several saved-up.

They are supposed to honour them until December 2023 (NEXT year)...
Here's the link to the terms... you can show them on your next visit. https://www.mcdonalds.com/ca/en-ca/t...fe-on-cup.html
The December 2023 date is the last paragraph at the bottom.
