At least the taxes are done. :)
Good Morning Everyone,
Took a look at the flyers not a lot for us this week which is fine with me.
I might run to Food Basics after work for a couple of things but we will see how I feel, I have a meeting and not sure how long it will last so that may factor in as I don't want a super later dinner.
Also, they are calling for storms right around the time I get off work and if we get them I won't be shopping during a storm.
Still working on next week's meal plan, if I go to Food Basics and they have the Ground Chicken they have on sale thinking I will make the Greek Meatballs. I think lunches will be fajita bowls. Breakfasts will be Lemon Ricotta Pancakes with Berry Sauce and Whipped Greek Yogurt. Now to come up with about 10 more dinner ideas LOL.
Let's see what I can knock out
Happy Thursday Everyone.
Thank you @HermanH for starting this thread
Hoping to find some good deals on fruits, vegetables and dairy this month since we are eating out of the Freezer and Pantry. Will only stock up stuff if there is a good sale and coupon
For those who are okay with frozen ground chicken, GT has 4x 1 lb for $10. We mostly use this for our homemade cat food, but when we have eaten it, I didn't notice any difference from fresh.
I went with hubby to canadian tire to use up our 30.00 promo card we got
small yew shrub on sale 19.99
4 bags of black soil 3.00 = 36.10-30.00 promo card=6.10
Happy with our purchase!
Good Morning Everyone,
As expected my meeting ran late yesterday which was fine but a few things came in during the meeting I had to get done yesterday and it was pouring so no grocery shopping.
I was going to go grocery shopping today but that may not happen because honestly, I do not feel like it.
Not sure what is up today but I feel like I cannot wake up and am feeling kind of blah so we shall see what the day brings.
I had a bit of a dinner fail last night, I pulled out Wings for Mom and Chucks for me to make Caesar Wraps before my meeting. When I got home I completely forgot I was planning to have the leftover potato salad as the side dish so I ended up throwing fries in the oven since I was still doing a few things for work. So now we still have potato salad to eat, opps.
Tonight's dinner is a mystery.
UGH, I just remembered I am supposed to be washing the bedding today. I completely forgot to strip my bed this morning.
I literally feel like if my head was not attached right now I would forget it.
Happy Friday Everyone.
Good Morning! Gray start to the day here.
Enjoying my coffee and going through work emails. Think it will be a quiet day today.
Meeting my friend for dinner tonight. We were going to do lunch today but I wasn't sure I could make it so she suggested "drinks" which means dinner lol. I will offer to pick her up so she can drink :) I haven't been out for dinner in town in a long long time! I really only go with her because if home we eat at home. Only when out of town we seem to eat out.
Still haven't done laundry....today should be the day. I should at least do a load of towels. They are easy to fold and put away at least.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Man since when are green onions $1.89-guess I will blame the tariffs.
@lizzie bargain , they have been insane here for awhile, our Costcos are now carrying them, 2lbs for $6.99 which is the better deal but A LOT of Green Onions.
I lucked out and got them on sale for $4.99 so we chopped up half of them and put them in the freezer for use later.
Well this morning I bit the bullet and booked 12 days in Mexico for November! I had been searching the past 2 weeks and seems the deals go up/change or direct flights are crazy expensive. Finally found the perfect deal and hit the book button! Went back in just now and most rooms are sold out and only small twin beds available and $100 more then what I paid. Glad to have that done! When down there plan on checking out some places for future trips (February)...feel better if we see them in person before booking.
Had to pop to the bank for work. Went for a stroll in the No Frills while downtown and left spending 0. We don't really need anything.
Start the month with another delicious NY striploin roast, perfectly rare. :)
Scumbags jacked up my car insurance 10%, even with absolutely no claims or demerits. :(
Good Morning Everyone,
Yesterday after I posted I got my butt going and got the bedding started, all bedding was done in time for bed although I did have to finish making Mom's bed as I was going to bed, but it is done and that is all that matters at this point.
Both at home and at work I did not get as much done as I had hoped, I really struggled with focus yesterday every little email was distracting me. I will have to knock out some work this weekend as there is stuff I need for Monday I did not get done but honestly, I was being overly ambitious. I was trying to get what normally takes me a week to complete done in a day.
I had also hoped to get the bathroom and floors done yesterday but that did not happen so I am just going to try my best to get done what I can today.
Well I am having my tea I am doing some work stuff get that out of the way and then I will start on the cleaning.
It looks like May is going to be completely insane at work. There are so many moving parts and new people coming on so I feel like this weekend I need to get everything in place to set us up for success.
We will see what I can get done because there is a lot I want to get done but I am also realistic it might now all happen but we will see.
Happy Saturday Everyone.
Good morning frugalees! Happy weekend to those slaving all week.
I sure admire the challenges you set for yourself @SassyAshley wrt to the regular household chores and even those despised deep cleaning ones.
Doing THAT on top of work? I pale by comparison.
This weekend is gazebo restore! DH was able to secure new panels for the backyard structure and if the weather cooperates he'll get that set up.
Once the privacy curtains are attached all the outdoor furniture can be arranged inside.
My contribution may be to BBQ something, hoping any rain holds off until Sunday night.
Morning hubby went to pick up son to get his newer car (sons car).
I just looked at my rbc credit online and i got the 10.00 credit for shopping at food basics last week so the bill was 114-10.00=104-1.88 cpn =102.12 for my groceries last week .Nice promo .
Hubbys brother dropped over yesterday with his wife we sat out back under our umbrella ,this may be the last year for it as holes are appearing at the top.
Then we want to invest in a steel gazebo on our back porch .
Do you enjoy yours walkonby does it have the curtains also ,as i would love them for privacy ?
Opps sorry i just reread your post ,you do have the curtains .
I popped over to shoppers used my 10.00 promo from seniors day
needed 2 bounce 80's 5.99 minus my personal offer 1,200=5.39 each

love the deal of the month mens and ladies crew bench socks 4.00 for 3 pair so i bought 2 more pkgs as i wear the mens along with hubby. The socks are so breathable and comfortable.
Up an at em early today. I mean I’m always up by 5am at the latest anyways.
The bedding has been stripped, washed, new bedding out on, and the washed ones dried and folded. Kitchen tidied, a run to Safeway to get soy milk, grabbed a McD’s coffee, the bikes loaded and dropped off at the bike shop for a tune up for the upcoming biking season.
I'm about to head out shortly to take my dad to the airport as he’s flying to Copenhagen alone tonight . I’m a bit worried as he’s 87 but thinks he’s 37 :yikes:. Unfortunately he has to be there in person for some pension paperwork. It’s nuts.
We did a Costco shop on Tuesday and stocked up. 4lbs of strawberries and they’re almost gone :P.
It's been such amazing weather here and hopefully it will continue so we can pickleball this weekend. The last couple of days have hit 25/26 degrees but of course we were working during the day.
Light rain last night so the garden is nicely watered and growing beautifully. I do need to get some green onions planted and add another couple of rows of radishes.
I was happily surprised when the library manager informed me that I won the monthly circulation draw of a $20gc of my choosing. I chose $20gc from WM, which I can pick up later in the month. Dh won this draw a couple years ago. This is my first time winning this monthly draw.
I went to a local church rummage sale today and as I was looking they announced prices were 50% off so I bought a skirt that I had not wanted to pay 5.00 but was totally happy to pay 2.50 for. I found a book on my reading list that was already a deal at 1.00. My best deal was 22 mason jars for 4.00. I get as many as I can as cheap as possible for a local group in NS. They make all the jams and pickles for the Christmas hampers from rescued food. So they are always in need of jars. I have at least 75 that I have picked up over the winter and today was the 1st time I paid for them.
Then it was a day of yard work. We leave Monday to drive back for summer and my sons take care of the house and garden so I wanted to get fresh mulch out. It looks amazing.
Good Morning Everyone,
Got quite a few things done but a few things did not get done because well, I fell asleep on the couch in the afternoon and when I woke up, it was time to make dinner.
I got the bathroom cleaned, I gave it a good scrub but not as much as a deep clean, that is to come.
I got the kitchen floor done, not going to lie it was bad so I scrubbed 3 times, yes 3 times but it made me feel so much better.
I tidied up the Pantry which to be honest wasn't that bad, I have been focusing on not letting it pile up the biggest task was boxing 2 bags of potatoes and then just putting a few oddities away (Olive Oil, Panko, Chai Tea and Egg Noodles).
When I cleaned up the kitchen I found off in a corner under some other things some pantry stuff I bought when I broke nose so that also went downstairs.
I did not get the bathroom floor done and there was something else I cannot remember I had planned to do.
Last night I made Mozzarella Chicken with a Cheesy Garlic Naan and Salad for dinner.
Tonight I am not sure, originally I was planning on Greek Chicken with a Greek Orzo Salad but now I am thinking maybe homemade pizza instead.
I am already eyeball high in my prep. As soon as I woke up I got started as I have to go meet Dad later today and switch out cars so mine can go in for it's spring service. Normally I just work at the branch when they come to pick up my car but I am fully booked this week so we will car swap today instead.
My goal is to get my prep knocked out before I go to meet Dad so when I come home I can try to finish up some work stuff I need for tomorrow (yep, that is where are are at, UGH!!!!) and maybe still find some time to relax.
Happy Sunday Everyone.
please don't laugh or compare BUT all I've done since I got up was make a coffee.......in true lazy fashion, I'll get around to the chores.
There’s NOTHING wrong with that :top:
Today I was up at 3:45 and wide awake until 4:30. I did fall asleep at 9 last night so not bad. I guess I was just worrying about my dad and his long flight. All is good.
I smoked my foot on the laundry room door and thankfully didn’t break it but managed to rip half my nail up! Fun times. It’s much better this morning but wowzers.
Today is a relaxing kinda day with a small grocery shop for bananas and some small stuff then off to enjoy the sunshine.
Have a fantastic weekend everyone
Good Day!!!
Yesterday was a lazy day!!
Today- Got up had a quick shower, made coffee and took it to go and headed to the town docks! Walked around and just took it all in.
Then went to a spot where we kayak and walked the trail. Then hit No Frills/Walmart on the way home.
There were a few deals I wanted (NF- The Quaker deal- pm FB. 50c digital coupon-3000 PC points wus $10 and I had a coupon buy 3 get 1 free.)
Then Walmart I bought DS 4 flavoured Helman's may for $3.84 less $1 coupon.
Home and washed up the dishes and boiled eggs for an egg salad sandwich. Had some sliced cucumbers on the side.
Now I will fold the towels in the dryer (I didn't get to it on Friday ) then I will go out and putter.
I took chicken out of the freezer for dinner. We have broccoli in the fridge to use ASAP. Probably make a salad too. No strict plan...it will all just work out :)
Enjoy the day!
Yesterday was record setting heat here and I put the AC on. Earlier today there were some snow flakes coming down-go figure.
.
Monday tomorrow is 10% off Senior's Day for the 60+ shoppers at Giant Tiger.
