    It did occasionally happen on the old site and when you fixed it, it was something to do with microsoft formatting (I remember whining about it before) if you took it out of WYSIWYG you could post it but in WYSIWYG you would get a lot of jargon from excel or word which was taking up the line (similar to if you copy an excel chart and don't use paste special when pasting it into a document)

    Initial post action: Added 3 attachments, added 2 attachments inline
    post action2: edited post, removed one attachment code (removed attach code went from inline to attachments block)
    post action 3: go advanced>attachment manager>'remove' specified attachments

    To remove attachments you must Go Advanced>Manage Attachments>scroll down and 'Remove' the specified attachment.
