Thread: Looking For Cheap Garbage Cans
-
Sun, Apr 29th, 2012, 09:14 PM #1
I'm looking for some of the old style garbage cans (to help with sorting all the recycling), I can't seem to to find them anywhere for less than 20-25$, I need at least 3, and thats going to be 60-75$ that I don't have room in my budget for.

If anyone sees any advertised online or in a flyer can you please let me know!!

I am seeing more Rubbermaid garbage cans rather than metal.
If you don't have a lot of recycling, the No Frills bins are sturdy and cost less.
I have seem them at $2.50 for the black, red or purple ones. Usually in the middle of the summer (Oshawa - 401E and Bloor St.)

Thanks! We don't have a No Frills out here. But I've been trying to keep my eyes out for them, I just would prefer to have lids with them as they are intended to be out on our back deck.

Random idea--is anyone moving in your area? Having a garage sale? You might find bins that way or those step-on type garbage cans (plastic) that are for kitchen use.
You really don't want metal cans-the clatter is so not worth the effort when putting the lids back on (especially if the cans ever get dented and then the lids need lots of hitting to close). I agree with the Rubbermaid garbage containers (the non-wheeled ones, with the wide opening and snap lids) suggestion.
I'm having to replace my 20+ year old one soon as the opening edge has cracked. I really liked the soft green colour and hope to find a similar one as its replacement.Last edited by Ciel; Mon, Apr 30th, 2012 at 10:38 AM.

Check to see if your BC Walmart flyer has this same deal that I see for Ontario (expires May 3)
$10 each Black&Decker 109L Rubbermaid Red Zone Tote, stackable, snap-on lide #1424812
$15 each 30L Step Can with removable liner, lid closes automatically. Black, white or grey (a similar one is used in the kitchen here but that step overhang does not allow bulky items to get to the bottom, but it could work for soda cans or paper) #1424153/30076535
$6- 72L Hybrid Latch tote Blue #1445642 or $10-121L hybrid latch totes (no item number shown)2021-Bring on the sunshine, sweets & online shopping.
