I typically use the store's plastic bags, which I then reuse for a variety of things. Reusable bags would get grungy fast, and I often feel sorry for cashiers who have to handle everyone's yucky bags. The only ones I'd be willing to use would be cotton canvas bags that could be washed frequently, and it seems like good-quality ones have disappeared from stores in the last ten years. Anyone know where they can be purchased?

On the other hand, how clean is the shopping cart or basket you're putting all that stuff into before it hits your bag? Ever seen someone washing either one?

Actually one local grocery store has a thing that sprays a bleach smelling cleaner on them as they are pushed into the cart racks which makes me even more scared that I am eating bleach lol

I have some of the sobeys insulated ones for cold goods and I usually put meats in a plastic grocery bag in them and wipe it out every now and then with lysol wipes, the rest are canvas ones and get chucked in the wash
