I see there is a new Hip contest on Q. Unfortunately I have a prior commitment on Canada Day, so I won't be entering. However, if I do hear a winning word (or is it a song?) on the radio I'll try to contribute here so that one (or some) of us can win.

H-Team - Just read about your little furball. I'm sorry to hear, I would have been in a panic to see my pud like that It's good you got the poor thing to vet right away, I'd hate for it to get worse. Hope he/she is doing okay today or at least as good as can be expected under the circumstances - let us know what happens.

Glug, Glug, Chug! Chug!

Calgary - The roar of a diesel locomotive and 26 screeching railcars weren't enough to wake a drunken Alberta man - and Mounties say he'd surely be dead if they had.

It's a case that has veteran RCMP officers flabbergasted, given the odds against the sloshed long-weekend camper surviving being run over by an 8,000-tonne freight train.

But he not only walked away, the 20 something was still coherent enough to remember hhis beverage. "He got up and grabbed his beer and just walked away" said RCMP Sgt Dave Dubnyk.

The man, from the Crowsnest Pass area of Alberta had left his campsite near Elko, B.C. and somehow ended up on the nearby tracks. In expicably, he then decided to take a nap on the tracks. It was a sharp eyed engineer who noticed the body lying between the rails ahead. With whistle blasting the train ran over the man before coming to a stop

Wow - luck was certainly with that guy on that day!!!

What I find Ironic is that he would not be there if Sober, yet being Drunk (in this Case) Saved his Life.
