I did look it up on the Tim Horton's website... Tim Cards can be used in the US... at the US dollar value, so if the US $ is up... a $5 gift card (bought in Canada) would be worth less in the US. (does that make sense?!) However, I don't think Tim's is as popular in the US as it is in Canada... I guess they don't know a good thing! haha

Well another bad experience under my belt. I won an auction for 210 Pampers Codes (in the description it changed to 210 points). They were ALL for the free promo codes from Pampers. After two messages to and from the seller I knew I would get nowhere with her so I submitted a support ticket to Listia. Then I waited the appropriate time and filed a dispute. Today I added to the support ticket and I guess they decided to call it a draw. They have refunded my credits (1310) but I recieved a not so nice message from the seller and she claims she got to keep the credits.
What I find really strange is that Listia hasn't contacted me regarding their decision. The only way I knew it had been decided was the "dispute" was gone from my screen. This is not the first time I've noticed the lack of communication from Listia. I have, on several occassions, tried to ask questions only to be ignored by Listia.
That is really too bad.

That's so frustrating. It's annoying that people do this with Pampers points so often. Grr.

Yes Mia you're right about.
But the auction I won just before that one was for 227 points. It went like a dream. So smoothly. No problem with the codes. The seller was very quick to reply.
I guess I was lulled into false sense of security.
We may have to live and learn but we don't have to be ripped off!!!!!

I hate when people cheat the system like that and basically ruin it for the 100 other honest SCers who post codes.

When I see a post with codes ... I always try to see IF it says WHAT product and if not, even if I'm not bidding, I ask.
And I look at their rating for past code auctions.

IF I had read up on her ratings before I bid.
IF I had asked for specific details before I bid.
So many IF's. I sure hope this teaches me a lesson.
It sure is about time I learned the ropes on Listia and stopped blindly trusting every auction/seller.
