I'll give you an even better family story.

My father was a grand pooh bah in the Masonic Lodge. His best friend at the time was from Wales. After lodge they'd head over to the Welsh Club for a pint (or ten).

At one point this fellow's great uncle came out from Wales saying he wanted to see his family one last time while he could still travel. He was in his late 70s. After lodge they headed to the Welsh Club. They're sitting their and this guy starts crying so they ask him what's up.

Seems he hadn't come to see the family. When he was a young boy he'd been secretly in love with an older girl in his village. She'd moved to London had met a soldier she married, moved to Canada and last he'd heard she had ended up in Vancouver. He'd flown to Vancouver hoping to find out about her. Whether she was dead or alive? Whatever. As the plane descended into Vancouver at night he realized just how big it was and he lost all hope.

So my father says, "I grew up in the Scots-Welsh community. What was her name? Maybe I can find out what happened to her."

He says her name.

It was my grandmother!!!!!!!!!!

He'd carried a torch for her for 60+ years and the one guy he needs to meet in 2,000,000 people is having a beer with him!!!!!!

Incredible!!!!!

She was still alive and the old fellow got to spend a week with her before going back to Wales.

So, in honour of my grandmother and Welsh lovers here's:
