This is what is called "American Foxtrot". The videos I posted were for "International Foxtrot".

The main differences are that in International you are in a closed hold partnership for the whole dance. American Style, taught by Arthur Murray & Fred Astaire schools seems to have developed out of Fred & Ginger movies who were always performing to a camera on one side of the room so they often break apart to pose as you can see in Kim's & Joey's performance. International style was developed by the British. Buffy & I dance International.

American style is easier for "The Stars" to fake. You'll notice Len often gets upset with the Foxtrot (he is an International Style dancer). The "pros" learned very quickly to start with a "feather & reverse" from the International syllabus to please Len. International Foxtrot is the hardest of all.

PS: The pros to watch are Karina & Louis. I think Karina finished as high as 2nd at the official world championships and Louis was world champion in Latin.
