When Walmart rolls back a price, usually how long is it at that price for?
Also sometimes Walmart has an item for "sale" but the tag on the shelf will make it look like it is regular price, because there is nothing to indicate that it is at a lower price and later will be at a higher price. I have seen this happen for baby cereal, shampoo and soap.
Once I went to get some shampoo and they were out of stock, when I went to get a rain check, the manager for the shampoo department happened to be there and looked on her stock gun and said that this was their regular price, so no need for a rain check. Well a few months later I went to get the shampoo and the price was raised.
Same thing for cereal I went 3 weeks ago and saw that the gerbers were $2.88 (this was a regular shelf tag) then I went again yesterday and now the price is $4.89 or something like that now the milup cereal is at a lower price with a regular shelf tag.
So how do you tell if it is a lower price for a short time? This thread is currently associated with: Walmart

I asked this question myself a few years ago... I think it's something between two weeks and a month. Longer than any flyer, for sure.
The only way to really be able to tell is to make a book of prices for your favorite items. It's almost impossible to tell otherwise.

I use my cell phone to take a PICTURE then I head over to customer svc.
I explain to them I have a family of 3 and ask them for 3 rainchecks (depending on what the item is)
I don't believe IMHO it is WRONG to ask for what you need!
I'll say btwn Sobeys, WM & Safeway I have a 90% success rate of getting Rainchecks...
Sometimes they have a Limit,or a no Raincheck Policy...
KTWK... Kill them w/Kindness
If they are rude I will ask for a Manager, on the spot!
The way I see it Each of our $$$/time is equally important...
DON'T be afraid to say that out loud... With a SMILE

Walmart rollbacks are usually for a month or until they run out of stock. Walmart also changes their regular prices ALL the time. Prices seem to go up around the end of the month and usually back down the beginning of the month.
I would suggest keeping a price journal of your favorite products as it will help you figure out the sales cycles. When a product hits your bottom line price buy as much as you need based on what you can use by the best before date.
I feel bad for new moms. I have a DD who is 4 and a DS who is 2 and I have noticed that diaper packages have shrunk by half and the price stayed the same. I am so grateful I bought a mountain of diapers (two stacks from floor to ceiling) when DS was born. I'm starting to run out soon so will need to start potty training!Last edited by frugalmom2; Mon, Aug 6th, 2012 at 10:09 AM.

depending on what the item is sometimes our Walmart is 2 or 3 weeks. Sometimes it's only 1
I am currently looking for coupons for non parishable foods or grocery coupons good until December to help with Christmas food helpers.
If you have any to trade please PM me.

Maybe storewide is a bit of a blanket statement.

I keep a price journal for the products I use and they generaly increase near the end of the month and decrease at the beginning the next month.. Although I have just noticed an anomaly that may be a price hike. With the drought effecting the corn crop, prices will no doubt increase shortly for a lot of products we use.Last edited by frugalmom2; Mon, Aug 6th, 2012 at 10:11 AM.
