Mine does too..or else one of the staff drive me home and either drop my car off at the end of the day or drives me back to the garage to collect, if it's going to be less than a day.

I have to agree with you on the dealerships. I have never had any luck dealing with them, I took our truck in once and told them I had problems with the injector's ( my hubby is a mechanic but was out of town and couldn't fix it) after they argued with me over that, they finally took the truck and yes they gave me a rental. I went back 3 days later and they told me that they couldn't find the problem, so they charged me very big bucks for the rental and all the diagnotics tests (would have been covered by warrenty) I took the rental back and waited for over 2 hours with 2 children in the dealership to take my truck and.......... they lost my truck and couldn't find it..... how do you lose my truck other then someone using it for some joyriding around town. Only to come back and now tell me that you found the problem, so I wasted over 3 hours there with 2 small children and had to drive over 1 hour to even get there.

You want see a pi**ed of woman. Then they started to tell me that it would take 2-5 day for me to be refunded the costs that I had just paid for a vehicle that they didn't even look at. Took me 4 phone calls and 2 more hours but I also walked out of there with my $950. They never saw me or my truck again. Over 7 hours out of my day and I got nothing accomplished

It all depends, I have a fabulous Ford delearship where I bought my car but one day I went to one closer to my house and the service SUCKED.

It was they same when I owned my Hyundai, one delearship was great and the other not so much and the one that was great was bought and had new owners and service went down hill. So it basically comes down to who owns it and the staff they have.

If you are in the Ottawa area I have a great ford delearship I can send you to

My issue here originally, was the lack of communication. I don't care if they need my car for the day, so long as they tell me they need it for the day when I make the appointment. Also, why would an appointment be needed if it is going to be there all day? That still doesn't make sense to me.

The girl checking in the car handled the situation badly, no empathy, and not apologies for the misunderstanding, and then she was sarcastic when she thought I wouldn't hear her. That is not acceptable customer service, I understand it sucks dealing with irate customers, I worked in a call center for 8+ years, there is a way to handle irate customers, and the way she did so is not appropriate.
The person who took my complaint about the first girl was also horrible on the customer service front, when I told her that my preferred garage communicates to me about their need for my car and that if I make an appointment to have it seen at 9:30 it goes in shortly after that time, her response was "Must not be a busy shop then if they have mechanics waiting at the door for you". Trying to trash talk another business because they know how to relay expectations is not cool in my books.

With regards to the all day appointment, my dealership will typically only give a rental if they are doing work that will take a day, not just tests. Also, as I had not been there in 4 years, I didn't know it was normal for it to be all day, I know that now!
I wrote into the owner to relay my experience with the two representatives, and they have offered to continue to diagnose my car free of charge, provide me a no charge rental any time my car is in for test or work, even if days at a time, and a discount on the parts once the cause of the issue is determined.

I didn't ask for anything in my email, I told him what happened, I gave him my suggestions on how to improve (better communication, irate customer diffusion training, complaint system) and they offered me what was listed above. I am taking them up on their offer, and hope that we can finally get to the bottom of why my car almost stalls at 60.
