What is everyone doing with these sim cards?

My son is really rough on phones and probably has a "new" one ever 4 months or so. Because of this he usually buys a cheap used phone from a friend or online. He needs to buy a new SIM card for the phone. This way he doesn't have to. I ordered 3. Gave him one...and kept 2 aside for future use....because I know he will break his phone sooner or later :b

A dumb question, but I'm really "green" when it comes to cell phones...
Does it come with a designated phone number? Or you can keep your old number?

No designated phone number.

It's a completely brand new sim card nothing attached to. You can activate a new number [Can be random number] or transfer your old/current number/account on the old sim to a new sim.

You can also give it to who ever you want also if you like [that's if you ordered multiple sims]

I have ordered one for myself, cause my contract with Bell is over and I would like to swich the provider but keep the same phone number. I guess I will need to unlock my phone too....

I got the sim card but I think it's only good for rogers pay as you go.

Yes ,You can port your existing number over to another carrier.

You can use it for post-paid too, Rogers would not restrict it to just pre-paid as they make most of their money on post paid.

My friend was able to activate one of the sims I gave her on post paid

It's fine on iPhone4 .... Just use a sim cutter or manually cut it yourself, the chip part is the same on regular sim and micro sim
