Ideas for Christmas Vacation

We would like to get away for Christmas this year. I am almost 40 and I have spent EVERY Christmas with my family and it has gotten to the point where I no longer enjoy the season. It used to be my favorite holiday but with all of my family living so close every time we get together there is at least a couple of fights.

The only way out of a family Christmas is to not be here. We are trying to come up with a family friendly vacation for an 8 year old. We will probably go south. We are thinking a week, not too expensive and kid-friendly. Anyone got any ideas?

That time of year might be good prices for California and Disney World. Even big kids want to go there but your have to research for the deals. Any place is an adventure for an 8 year old. You could go to Vancouver Island and explore the beach in winter.

Actually from what understand Disneyland and Disneyworld are pricey at Christmas especially right after Christmas.

Any place warm it is high season.

You know what we did our older teens found work over Christmas so we were "not as available". One even worked Christmas Day.

Then we took a holiday to the mountains mid January.

So my advice is for you and your husband to work and save the money for later.

Just my luck I was in another car accident so no Christmas vacation for us. Now I have to find some crappy job that I can do with my injuries. I am still waiting for the resolution of the last of the 4 car accidents that happened 5.5 years ago. No lawyer this time. If they make me an offer I am just taking it. 6 years for 4000 minus lawyer fees is just not worth it.

Oh more reason to get work over the Christmas season...there are a lot of places that hire just for Christmas.
