I went through the GCs at my SDM today so added a few more to the list.

I was reading the list to DH and he asks if there is any Costco. I say no. He says - but they take American Express though. Brilliant!! We do a big shop there just before Christmas every year! This year we will get some SDM points as well! I will gladly pay a $5 fee for 8000pts($20 at MegaRdmpt) on money we are going to spend anyway within weeks of when this promo typically runs.... if it runs this year .....

    FYI
The purchase charge for the American Express Gift Card varies by denomination:
    • $3.95 + applicable taxes for a $25 Gift Card
    • $4.95 + applicable taxes for a $50 Gift Card
    • $5.95 + applicable taxes for a $100 Gift Card
    • $6.95 + applicable taxes for a $200 Gift Card
    • $8.95 + applicable taxes for a $200-$500 Gift Card (choose your load amount)

Just an FYI that some SDMs won't let you pay for gift cards with a credit card. So be prepared to pay with cash or debit.

Can't wait for pay day. I am going to stock up on Esso, Timmies, Starbucks cards. Will also probably get a Cineplex and Keg Gift card for a night out.

OMG I saw gc today for Taco Bell and KFC (on the same card) so those will come in great for Toonie Tuesdays at KFC (although I think it's like $2.77 now or something so not really a toonie per se).

So my plan was to take empty cards from SDM and then take them back to the cashier next week when the sale is on to load them up cuz sometimes when you go to the SDM store to buy a particular gc and they are out of them it really screws up your plan. I also will be buying the Petro Canada gc which has the bonus save 5 cents off 50 litres too - Esso gc has no bonus.

Years ago when there was a promo to buy sdm gcs with your mbna optimum mc, sdm told me I had to buy new gcs and would not get the points if I reloaded an old card...

Did anyone have trouble getting their 8k points last year when they re-loaded their sdm gc last year?

Yes... I purchased 2 re-loadable SDM cards and didn't get the BP. I had to call in. I had no issues with the ones I purchased with a pre set amount on them however.

So can you do more than one transaction and get 8K twice or more? I can't find the fine print on this....

I remember reading about people not getting points for the reloadable cards......It may be better to just stick with the preset amount ones, just to save the headache :0)

Thank you both I thought with the problem of some of the gcs being defrauded by crooks in waiting that I would just re-load but maybe not. If I have time I'll give SDM a call and see what they say.

Saw an OLG lottery ticket gift card at SDM. You can only spend them at SDM lottery booths
