A few weeks ago, I finally received my confirmation of permanent residence after over a year of waiting! I had to get the papers signed by an immigration officer though and to get an appointment in Canada would have taken months. Since I live less than an hour from the border, my BF and I decided to drive down for Black Friday!
We left on Monday morning and drove down to New Hampshire to go to the outlet malls and picked up some GREAT deals! Black Friday at Outlet Malls in New Hampshire (no sales tax!!!)
We bought around $600 worth of stuff, but obviously worth A LOT more.
Driving back across the border, we declared everything, but didn't have to pay a cent of tax of tax because everything was being considered as my belongings that I'm bringing into the country as a new permanent resident!!
So not only did I score some REALLY awesome tax-free Black Friday deals, but I am now a permanent resident of your guys' beautiful country!! Double brag!
