an introduction

Hi everyone! I'm brand new to Smart Canucks and relatively new to the couponing scene in general. I've been doing some trading on another site but I'm hoping to find even more people to trade with over here.

Back in November I noticed that our grocery spending was way out of control and decided that I wanted to cut it down to a number more within our means. I've been working away at building a small-ish stockpile and have already noticed a fairly large improvement in our overall spending. I'm really enjoying couponing. It definitely adds a measure of fun to saving money (something I've never really thought of as enjoyable).

My biggest goals for 2013 are to pay off our collective credit card debt (it's not overwhelming high but it will be a huge deal to our family if we can finally get it off our backs) and to become even more self-reliant (plant a bigger garden, set up a proper cold store room, more 'from-scratch' foods, etc). I'm a diy kind of girl at heart and I love a good challenge so hopefully these goals will keep me entertained and busy all year long.
