So today is no tax day at RCSS, as you all know. Last night my DH and I went to check out the stores in Aurora and Newmarket to see what tvs they had...
We found a 50 inch Samsung, LED, 120 Hz... It was perfect and on sale too!!!! We were there at 7AM this morning to pick it up (and we are NOT morning people)...
Regular Price: $898
Sale Price: $698
Total Transaction Cost: $698 + $39 (Recycling Fee) - $60 (PC points) = $677
The look on DBILs and future SILs face when they see their bridal shower gift: PRICELESS!

WTG!! Good job!
I got my Haier TV on no tax day at Maxi a few weeks ago and they paid the eco fees. Then we did a few transactions price matching the SDM flyer and bought lots of Royale TP with the $1 coupons.
Check all your flyers for taxable sales and see if you have coupons for them, TP, body wash, shampoo, deodorant, etc, and then price match. Make out like a bandit, LOL.

Hey, isn't there a sale on Vidal Sassoon somewhere for 3.99? Price match and use your free styling product coupon WUB any shampoo or conditioner coupon. I think these coupons are from inserts and brandsaver.ca.

Is tax taken off automatically? Whether at self-checkout or at regular cash at Maxi, you have to tell them to take off the tax. If you forget, well, too bad for you. You have to take receipt to CS or make a trip back when you get home.

a trip to Las Vegas
a wedding
a new house
an expensive pen
an expensive camera (more than a mortgage payment)
a trip to France (okay, aeroplan and relative's house)
All in about a year...
and now a $600 TV for a SHOWER gift?
and then a wedding gift for BIL?

*Minou passes out*
