My DH came home from work before me tonight. He came home to find the cover off our BBQ and the lid wide open......



We live in a house turned into apartments. We figure someone has been using it (or maybe this was the first time) and had the cover open to cool it down quickly to hide their usage. Or they were in the process of starting it up and saw DH walking the street and panicked.

Either way, we are buying a lock and chain tomorrow on our lunch break.


So creeped out!!! I have a fish allergy and though it doesn't smell like fish, how am I to know?

Question: is the gas shutoff valve kept open when the BBQ is not in use? Or is the valve accessible by anyone?

Any possibility of aiming a webcam onto BBQ to see if you can find out who's messing with the appliance?

And OP, I understand your frustration. I rented a room in a townhouse and ended up having to install locks on my pantries and deep freeze to keep one of my roommates and his friends from taking my food and dishes. And for some reason "Please don't take my food or let your friends eat my food" didn't sink in with him.
