I'm a fan of keeping money in my pocket & travelling. Though my travels to the US has diminished post DS, we go from time to time & DH loves driving there. For those of us who shop in the USA we know that more often than not the deals there don't compare to here(exchange rate taken into consideration). Also persons who are a bit heavier don't have to empty their wallets to find beautiful clothing at amazing prices.Feel free to post your US trip deals (& online deals)here as inquiring minds want to know.

Thanks Shirnette for setting this up!! I go to the States a couple of times a month, I'm only an hour away from Massena and 3 1/2 hrs from Syracuse. Syracuse is much better a lot more stores Macys etc. Massena is very small put it has everything I need.
Before you go to the states check out www.mommysavesbig.com this is one of the best sites for the States and they also have a section for extreme couponing!! You just pick the store you want and print the coupon, they also include the links to print coupons!! Happy shopping everyone!!

I just saw a commercial for JCPenney for this weekend. In store only for today (Friday August 2) and tomorrow (Saturday August 3) there is a coupon offer for 'Spend $25 and Save $10'. You're limited to one coupon per use. Here's how I've always gotten around this....print multiple coupons (I usually print @ 10) then I divide my purchases into $25 increments (before taxes, of course) and hit separate cashiers with my purchases. Sneeky huh?
This way you save even more!!!!!!!

i do this all the time, I go to the same cashier and do multiple transactions. I asked them once that it said 1 per customer, they said it doesn't matter as long as its separate transactions!! I went to jc Penney yesterday and the Bon -Ton they had a coupon spend $5.00 get $5.00 off, (it wasn't spend $25.00 get $5.00 off it was $5.00 for $5.00!!!!) I already posted something similar in the brag section, couldn't find this thread...Anyways bought a lot of stuff tops that were $30 ea, reduced to $16.99 then $5.99 less coupon $5.00 came to $1.02 including taxes!! Also bought socks, underwear, the cashier was amazing smiling, happy!! When I was leaving gave away my coupons the people were excited and thankful..all in all a great day!!

We went to New York with a group recently.
Well, it was a win-win trip.
Win#1 - found a few good deals.
Win#2 - found out that some of our deals for Back to School groceries are better than the New York deals.

The Christmas Tree Store
If you are in the US shopping, don't walk by this store.
It doesn't just have Christmas stuff.
Found Bigelow tea for $1.99. This is usually $3+ in Canada.

Thanks Shawgirl for the video, I go to the states quite often and try to use coupons but I don't have as much luck as I do here in canada with coupons..but I do find incredible deals in the States..I never liked Target but now with the coupons on their site plus stacking I'll give it a try the next time I go.
i went to the States this week-end bought faucets ( doing bathroom renovations), here they were around $89.00 there $34.00 Home Depot. Also went to the Akwesasne casino and husband won $1500. Waited on the Cornwall bridge for 30 minutes, once we got to the toll bridge lady said the car in front of us paid for our bridge pass!!

hi everyone, this weeks massena (USA) deals. Husband ordered car floor mats saved over $100, picked them up at the UPS store. Then went to price chopper to pick up groceries, you get so much money off gas but I always went to the Akwasasne reserve thinking the gas was cheaper, but this time I decided to ask the cashier how the gas thing worked. She looked at my receipt and said that i had .74 cents off a gallon so it would be cheaper to go to the Sunoco and get my gas. I paid $2.95 a gallon instead of $3.69, saved over $12.00, normally to fill my car it is $80.00 in the states I paid $50.00, savings of $30.00. As for my grocery bill by using my price chopper card it said I saved $45.00 in groceries, my bill was $160 less the $45.00 it came to $115 (lots of groceries plus a 24-28 lbs turkey!!) Then we went to the casino, since it is my birthday month I got a free buffet reg. $17.95 plus $10 to play, plus they sent me $20.00 in the mail to play. Out of that $30.00 I won $250!!! My husband won as well, all in all a great day!!!

A good way Canadians to shop on American websites is to use a site called MyUSAddress.ca. I've used it a ton of times and it's really handy. You basically can use their warehouse in Ogdesburg, NY as your pseudo address and can pick it up when your order arrives. They'll also hold it for you for free if it takes you a while to get there. It's worth checking out!

So, it's ok to post deals? Last time I went, these were the deals I took advantage of:
butter: 4 sticks (1 pound), $2.50 (i usually pay $5.79)
canned pure pumpkin: $1.69 for 28 oz and $1.19 for 19 oz can (28 oz here is $3.69 to $3.99)
Arizone decaf green tea, 1 gallon bottle: 5 for $10.
