ExpiredTo ask about being able to stack coupons. I just wanted to clarify that it could be done at ALL stores.
So I sent them this:
Comments: I was wondering if you could forward me some information on
your coupon policy in your stores. I have heard that it is possible to
use multiple coupons for one item but I wanted to clarify this before
going to the store.
Awaiting your reply!
Wanda
And this is the response I got:
Hi Wanda,
Thank you for taking the time to write to us with your inquiry.
Yes London Drugs does allow you to stack coupons, as long as they are
each different coupons, that they are Canadian coupons and don't exceed
the price of the product and you still are required to pay the
applicable taxes.
We do allow this and hope that it won't be abused as to ruin it
everyone, so please use it responsibly.
Season's Greeting
Sincerely,

I was so happy until about the last line then I was like what the??? Where does that statement even remotly relate to the topic at hand? I kind of feel like she is making it out that I want to rip them off when it is their policy. What could be 'ruined' for everyone if it is their policy? I'm debating emailing her back to ask what she meant by that because I have to admit, it irked me a little, what do you think? Am I being too picky? This thread is currently associated with: London Drugs

no.. its just a nice way of saying that if some people go crazy all at once with couponds the store might get upset and compain to head office... and they may way to change their policy. so having that last line there means that if they do change the policy that is the reason.. becuse some people abuse it.
The real question is what is abuse, and what is thrift, or fruggle.. or smart shopper...?
na.. id read nothing into it... just stock up and take them in when shopping. also it might help to take a copy of the email incase they try to stop or limit you.

Okay, not a problem. I'm not the type of person who would overly dramatize a situation but I just wasn't sure with this one. I guess it's because I still feel the sting of using a coupon at certain stores where they don't welcome them.
I will leave it be and go use my multiple Pampers coupons on the big boxes on sale this week!

I think they are just being careful and polite, for example if someone goes in with 3 of the same save.ca coupons and starts fighting with a cashier that they should be able to stack them (because we all know someone out there will try it).
Don't take it personally, and it is great info that they WILL let you stack!

hmm, define 'abuse' to me. if i used a bunch of coupons and end up getting stuff for free is that abuse? if so, why bother allowing coupon stacking if they are not happy about it?

I didn't understand the concept of stacking - thanks for sharing.
Do other stores allow us to "stack"?

Don't take the comment personally. I have seen first hand people that look just for the cashiers that let them ring the coupons in at the end of the transaction, and then hand them many more coupons than the value of the product, to help cover the taxes. Head Office is not stupid. They can tell this by the receipts. So the more people who abuse this, then the more they will not allow it. I personally put one product on the counter with the coupons that go with it...then put another with the coupons...and so on. And a many a times I've pulled coupons that cashiers were about to take, because it was the wrong size product or I realized it was not quite the same. I also do not abuse this privledge ....I only buy what I will consume.
Trust me when I say this is not the only abuse that goes on...so remember...abuse it, then lose it!

That's great to know. I have stacked at LD for quite some time now. I don't use it for more than I can use or stock within a reasonable time. I would be curious as to what they mean by abuse. If they have guidelines as mentioned then abuse should not happen. In my opinion I think more like yes we allow it, but we don't encourage it type of thing. Either way I am grateful for this policy as I'm sure we all are, so wouldn't want it to change any time soon.

don't stores get reimbursed for it anyways? so technically you're not abusing it as they will get their money back?
just something that popped into my mind

Who is abused? I find the statement embarrassing. I can not print this email and use it. It gives the cashier a chance to run away and control the situation!

Thanks for the info... I agree that the wording seems a little iffy, but I'm sure all of the companies are just concerned after seeing some coupon abuse recently. Not that it makes it right to assume that everyone will do it, of course...

Everyone who reads this site should be well aware the lengths a few go to to abuse coupons/the good will of companies, eg Marks coupon 37 times that made the national post(that ruined that type of promo for everyone), bragging about the maple leaf fraud etc.
They are saying if people can't control themself with the prospect london drugs is offering something extra others don't, they will have to stop the practice.
