maggi So Juicy for chicken

I saw this product in a commercial - it is a twist on Shake'n'Bake. The difference is that you leave the chicken in the plastic bag - the bag itself goes into the oven. (I also really liked the whistling song from the commercial).

There are a few flavours on the website but the only 2 I have ever seen are Garlic and Mixed Herb.


The chicken was really moist and tasty - even better than Swiss Chalet. I could not believe how moist the chicken was, even the breast pieces I made 3 days ago and left in the fridge came out better than restaurant chicken.

The only concern I have is about putting plastic in the oven. I know this bag is designed to go into the oven but I am a bit worried about chemicals leaching.

Has anyone else tried this?

I tried the mixed herbs one during the summer! It was soo good DH thought I bought the chicken already prepared. Think he was trying to tell me something lol! I highly recommend this product!

I bought a package of this but haven't tried it yet.
I like my chicken with a crisp skin, does the skin crisp up in the bag? I would think with all the moisture the skin would be soggy.

I havent tried it with skin-on chicken, but boneless, skinless chicken comes out sooooo freaking moist its insane. SOOO GOOD!!!

I've tried a couple different ones. I use a small whole chicken and it comes out AMAZING! Crispy skin in some places and moist, juicy and flavourful. Highly recommended

Didn't like the flavours that much but the chicken was so juicy and tender.

I tried Mixed Herb and Garlic, and both were really good. The skin crisp up, but not as much as if it were baked without the bag.....I think next time I will remove the cooked chicken from the bag and broil it for a few minutes.

@HeatherWake: I tried boneless skinless chicken too, and the texture was so moist, it reminded me of salmon. You didn't need a knife, and could break the chicken up with only a fork!

I am curious if it would work for beef or pork as well....

Pork is great at picking up flavours/marinades. I bet this stuff would work great with pork. 20 minutes per pound at 350 is what we do.

I never thought of using it for boneless/skinless chicken breasts!

I use this a lot!! We love it here, especially my (super picky) 3 year old. I love how easy it is too.

I use these for chicken breasts, and they always come out perfect and juicy! DH hates how dry chicken can get and this is the perfect solution

Never tried this product and not even knew this kind of product exist. Any insight where we can find in Toronto would be appreciated and yes any recipe using this product and chicken will be great.

the first time i used this..i put the chicken pieces in he bag & shook it (like shake n bake....lol

i used "rotisere"...i really liked the flavour & next time i will cook it IN the bag.
