I am a cashier and I think it is completely disrespectful to TRY and weasel and confuse staff like that. They make crap money and work crap jobs. A customer broke my thumb once because I dropped one of her apples by accident (WHICH IF SHE HAD TIED THE BAG NEVER WOULD HAVE HAPPENED....... anyway)
I think more people need to consider the people behind the till as well. Sure you get good deals , but when are you getting GREEDY? Cashiers make about $11 an hour tops and thats if they've been there for a few years. Big companies don't reimburse stores if the coupons are used improperly. It is worth it to the customers in line, the cashier , or the manager that has to diffuse the situation to save a buck?
If you think so , maybe you should be a cashier, or maybe you should own a franchise, or buy off ebay, or come when its less busy, or use coupons as directed. If a cashier is confused by someone weasling themself a deal, the STORE can't redeem the coupon and loses out. In the above case thats over 10 or 20 dollars in losses for that store because the coupons were not used properly. and you blatently said "so I could make up my own rules too lol) and she called the manager who let it go.".
It's different if the cashier screws up , but if they say no and show you why don't try and confuse them, that's greedy. how many of you refer to yourself as christians ?(silently this isnt a religious debate) ....... do you ask for forgiveness from God when you know you are being greedy? or is it okay because the manager said so?
and IN MY HUMBLE OPINION, if you are manipulating the situation, and someone else loses out; Its not stealing, but it's definitley disrespectful, inconsiderate and greedy.
if ur feeling broke im not discouraging you to tryyyyyyyy and get away with stuff like that but SERIOUSLY when you already saving so much money on junk already whats the point in trying to confuse the staff, and annoy other customers...... who then pick on the cashier for "taking too long"

i see what you're trying to say, but a lot of cashiers make up their own rules and the customer gets ripped off.

You can't blame people for trying to save a buck ... companies have HUGE markups on their products .. people are going to be smart and find ways to save their hard earned dollars .. perhaps you should direct your comments to shoplifters. I have overpaid for too long, been ignored by supermarket staff .. pushed around by other customers .. everybody is generally out for themselves .. HOORAY for this site .. I love all you sneaky little deal finders!!

I don't know this for sure, and maybe someone can help me out. When stores submit coupons the companies for reimbursement, all they supply is the coupon they recieved and proof that the store has purchased a quantity of that product in the last "x" days larger than the quantity of the coupons they are claiming.
Therefore in the case of supper store and the buy three olay. as long as super store has sold more olay products across the entire brand than they have submitted coupons, they will get there refund.
I may be wrong on this, this is just how I interpret the system to work.
So, in the arguement for and against useing a coupon incorrectly, you can't argue they won't get paid.
The other thing that comes to mind, when you use a coupon that's worth more than the product, say $5 off a product that costs $3 (including tax), The company will reimburse the store $5 for that coupon, not $3. In this case, the store should be giving the consumer money back.
Please feel free to correct me if I am wrong, This is strictly the way I interpret the situation.
And for the record, I am neither for or against the incorrect use of coupons for the gain of the consumer.

I know people who work at the coupon redemention center and yes martenswd is correct.
The store gets reimbursed as long as the expiry date was followed and the store stocks/sells the same product.
Technically if the olay coupon does not say "not valid on gift sets"....we can use the coupon to purchase them...if there are 3 items in the gift pack.
I think it's wrong of dj6sav to come on here and bash people for how they use coupons...just becuase of being a cashier. I was a cashier for many years and coupons were very easy to process. Cashiers these days are making it harder and harder to redeem coupons and I don't understand why because the money doesn't come out of their pocket..that's my 2 cents.

i wasn't trying to confused the cashier :S anyway, the cashier at toys r us said the j&j basket was more than one item, so wouldn't that mean the olay pack is also counted as more than one item? the stores/cashiers keep making up their own rules, it is getting frustrating. a lot of ppl were able to use this coupon for the gift sets, so guess the stores are able to get their money back.

That's what I mean. When stores were claiming that the Johnson's pack was multiple items people were arguing that if it only has one barcode than it's only one product. This gift set only has one barcode but people are arguing that it's still 3 items. It can't be both.
