Why make her come home today? She is 16, leave her to cool off or she will likely make a fuss when they are there on Wednesday. By giving her some space now, she is more likely to come for the meeting at your request

When I was 16, if my mum had told me she was sending cops to get me, they would have had to drag me kicking and screaming and I would have been right back out the window when they were gone

She is 16 loves being at home tried to get her a fancy cell phone didn't want one has a flip one, does crafts, sews, makes dinner, cleans doesn't have a boyfriend my biggest pet peeve is the way she talks to me then I tell my self it isn't that bad lol

Kelsey doesn't have a cell phone and only has one boyfriend her horse! lol She also doesn't want to go anywhere she is a home body and doesn't have the itch to go anywhere unless it is horse related.

Well it been a roller coaster of events in my house this weekend! The car things, which I posted on Saturday, and the last night well lets just say I was ready to loose my mind! From an extreme low to an extreme high in a matter of an hour and a half!!

DD and I got in a HUGE fight last night and she ran out (joy of 16 yr old girls), she was freaking out because I grounded her and took her phone away! She was found about a half hour later about a block away from her bff's house. THANK GOD!!! At 730pm at night with the creeps out there i was loosing my mind!!!! Then...

As soon as hubby walked in the door from trying to bring her home (which was unsuccessful, so she said at her bff's for the night to cool off), the phone rings. Its Habitat for Humanity saying we qualify for a house!!!!!! We applied to be a Habitat family at the end of July and have been waiting on pins and needles trying to be patient hoping for this call!!!! Of all nights and times for it to come!!!!

Long story short, we have a home visit scheduled for Wedn. night so they can get some more information on us and see check out our situation!!! Is so hard being extreamly excited for one thing and pulling my hair out in another!!!!

Someone please tell me though, she says shes not ready to come home and to give her a few days! With this meeting on Wend. we all have to be here. Im not fully cleaning or staging my house in anyway, so they can see what we are like day to day, but there are things that need to be done. I told her that her father will be picking her up at her bffs after work today and if she refuses to go with him, I said I would send the cops over to bring her home!! I also have an aunt that works in Moblie Crisis and I have talked to her who said to use the cops if need be. Im just wondering, was that pushing? I hate to threaten that far but shes really not getting the full picture here!!!!!! And im ready to loose my mind!!!!

Sorry about what you are dealing with your daughter right now! Wish there was an easy fix. Being a parent in one of the hardest things and knowing what to do is one of the challenges that we have to face! I am sure after she cools down and understands that she is needed on Wednesday everything will be fine!

I am so impatiently waiting for my persons wishlist as I can't wait to shop for them. I have class tonight so at least that will keep me busy. I am still off work but am on paid leave which is good and I am know it will be paid til I go back. TTYL guys!

Scpooh , congrats on the house news that is totally awesome!!!!
Not having had to deal with the teenage drama yet, I can only go based on my experience as a teenager ( I was a great easy going one ;D ). I would try and see if she is willing to try to talk the issue out first and explain how important the meeting is on Weds. Given the choice she might come home on her own, if not then step in. Just my experience with a preteen with her dad's temper, if explained and she felt like she had a choice, she normally came around. I am really hoping that it will continue into her teens as well or I am sure that I will lose my mind.

I feel for you regarding your DD! I'm sure my mom was feeling the same when I left home at 16!! My circumstances were about who I was dating, but same teenage type drama!

My advice is to give her another day to cool off and then see if you can talk on Tuesday. Personally, the harder my parents pushed to get me back home the faster (and harder) I ran in the opposite direction.

Are her bff's parents friends of yours? Perhaps hearing the same message from "not mom" would help?

It does get better! I was out for almost 2 years (not my proudest years) but went back when the relationship I was in turned bad (or worse now that I look back on it). My mom and I are super close now and had been for years!!
