It's really weird how very slowly this incident is unfolding. I'm having a hard time finding any more information other than the initial reports. Very sad though.
*Edit: I just read that at least 6 people have been injured.

Victim named as Gerardo Hernandez
A suspect, named by the FBI as 23-year-old Paul Anthony Ciancia, is in hospital after being shot by police.
Police are attempting to establish a motive for the assault.
About 1,550 flights with 167,000 passengers were affected, airport spokeswoman Nancy Castles said.
The gunman appeared to target agents of the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), which manages security at US airports, with an assault rifle.
He pushed through screening gates and walked more than 100 yards (90m) into the secure area of the terminal before law enforcement officers caught up with him in a food court.
A law enforcement official told the Associated Press (AP) news agency that Mr Ciancia was shot in the mouth and leg by two airport police officers.
The TSA named the dead officer as 39-year-old Gerardo Hernandez.
According to witnesses, the gunman approached potential victims asking if they worked for the TSA, and spared them if they said no.
He was said to be carrying a note that expressed anti-government views.

Mythbusters stars safe after LAX shooting
"Mythbusters' Grant Imahara and Tory Belleci were present in Terminal 3 at Los Angeles International Airport at the time of today's shooting incident. Both were en route to Delaware for the filming of 'Punkin Chunkin.' Grant and Tory are safe and being rerouted," the statement reads. "Our thoughts are with all those affected by today's tragedy and our gratitude goes out to the members of the LAPD, Airport Police, TSA, and Virgin America staff for restoring safety to the scene."
Both Imahara, 43, and Belleci, 43, have been live-tweeting from inside LAX with updates from the scene. "Something crazy is going down at LAX," Belleci initially tweeted. "People running everywhere. We just got evacuated." Shortly after he wrote, "Shooters in #LAX That was f***ing terrifying!"

It was you who went there, Patty (You - 'yay guns'), not me. I just responded.
Sorry Patty but you're not going to change my mind. Banning law abiding citizens from owning guns will leave them at the mercy of criminals with guns or without guns. Even in magic world where all guns are gone that leaves women, the elderly, families, everyone at the mercy of thugs who can victimise them at will. Through physical strength or strength of numbers they will victimise you. Guns save lives too.Last edited by DaveP; Sat, Nov 9th, 2013 at 04:02 AM.
