    I am hosting my family for Christmas dinner this coming Saturday (the 14th) and I don't see turkeys on sale anywhere yet. It kills me to pay more than $2 a pound when I know they will go down to $0.99 a pound soon.

    Does anyone know when they are likely to go on sale, and what store is most likely to put them on sale first?

    I'm thinking I might even have to buy it today or tomorrow, because it will need time to thaw before I cook it for Saturday.

    Walmart has Turkey coming on sale next week for $0.88/lb. If you could wait till Friday.

    Thanks! Now that's the kind of deal I'm looking for!!! I could wait till Friday if I can thaw it in water on Friday night.

    Do you know anything about thawing turkeys in a big hurry?

    No sorry I have never cooked a turkey in my life lol. But maybe you could google it?

    Edit: Actually I just looked at the flyer again and it is $0.87 not $0.88.

    Depends where you live.
    Quebec is Wednesday and the rest of Canada is Friday thought some walmarts start their sales on Thursday night.

    Awesome, thanks.... we roasted a 9 pounder on Sunday & it is already ½ gone - really stretches the food budget dollar - cheaper than chicken - going to buy another for the freezer

    Costco had a deli-style slicer on sale, I was tempted to buy it mostly for turkey sandwich purposes! But I couldn't justify spending $60 on something I'd only use a few times a year. Sure looked cool though.
