Thread: Teeth Whitening Recommendations?
-
Thu, Mar 7th, 2013, 06:42 AM #1
Hey Dear Canucks!
So I noticed my pearly whites aren't as pearly anymore. I would love to know of any teeth whitening systems/products that worked for you (Any testimonials will do) besides the hydrogen peroxide+baking soda - I feel it's more a quick fix and a bit too much for my teeth.
Has anyone heard of any good/bad reviews of the following?
Glo?
Crest Supreme Professional (apparently obtained through dentists only)?

every teeth whitening system out there uses peroxide.
the difference is just in how it is applied, how long it is applied for, and the formula in terms of thickeners and stuff. i've gone through at least a dozen patents for whitening systems, they are basically all the same when it comes down to what counts.
the staining can go deeper than just the surface. toothpaste might not work as well as you hope, but hey i guess it is worth a shotIn 2020 I had 100 FREE Grocery pickups! Subscribe to PC Optimum Insiders & get 25,000 PC Optimum pts

Are there any particular whitening methods that are more damaging to teeth than others?

When I was younger, I had braces. When I got them off, I got my teeth whitened by my dentist. Now I have an at-home kid refills are $20 from my dentist) and I use it every 6 months (for one night). My teeth have become SOOO sensitive from this.
For days after I do this, I cry when wind hits my teeth.
For the past two weeks I've been using Colgate Optic White Toothpaste and I find it incredible! My teeth aren't sensitive after using it either - which is a HUGE plus for me.WHATT, You aren't doing Swagbucks? http://swagbucks.com/refer/acosta22

Try this home remedy :
1. Rubbing a banana peel on your teeth and leaving for no longer than 15mins then rinse
2. Brushing oil onto teeth, then rinsing it finally. Can do the Oil pulling 3 times week, good for health.
3. Adding Salt and Lime in toothpaste.
Can try twice a week.

...Never mind!
Didn`t read your whole post.
Although I find peroxide + baking soda really works. You could try the peroxide alone, just use a cotton swab and let it sit there for a bitLast edited by Candini; Fri, Jan 10th, 2014 at 11:10 PM.

Also I find Crest strips never worked on me - not even the prof ones from dentists.

I'm not a fan of this personally. Teeth were never meant to be THAT white - when I see some people, I think of Ross from Friends and his glow in the dark smile.
My teeth aren't stained, but they aren't bright white either. Kind of like my hair, but opposite - some of my hair IS bright white, but I don't cover that up either.
