Who Can Vote

• Name of the image: Leaf me alone!
• Relationship to image: I took this photo in Gatineau Park.
• Story: This is a photo of Captain Jack Sparrow (our dapple miniature dachshund) who I consider to be my first baby even though I've got two human ones now too! This was taken when we were out for a walk along the trails in Gatineau Park in Gatineau Quebec during the Autumn leave change. Jack loves to play in the leaves and my 3 year old loves to help him by gathering large armfuls of leaves and dropping them on the dog. By the end of the walk my husband was carrying the baby in his arms, had the three year old on his shoulders and I had to carry Jack. Little weiner dog legs don't take well to hilly hikes!

• Story: I got him from my dad when he was 4 months old because my dad didn't have enough time to potty train him. Now he is 6 and he is the best big boy ever! He will only let you take his picture if you bribe him. No Bribes... no Pictures!

• Story: I've been wanting a dog for a while and a couple months ago we finally got one. The picture below is of Bella when we first brought her home. Although she likes to bite everything and anything, she's the best dog in the world. I don't think i could imagine my life without her now. Now, i can truly understand why people say that a dog is a man's best friend because i know she's mine.

• Story: In fact, he was my cat but I couldn't take him with me when I moved out of my mom's house. He's sooooo in love with her, I think he wouldn't have survived!!! So this cat is now 19 years old and still very active. :o) I took this picture 2 weeks ago on my mom's bed.

• Story: Angel is a beautiful little puppy. This is her first day at her new home and although her face never shows any other expression but looking sad, she is really a bouncy, happy, playful girl. We have another dog Milo who is an 11 year old Jack Russell and she was just watching him do his thing.

• Story: I took this picture of Mustang when we were watching the Toronto Maple Leafs. My son was showing Mustang the referee's and telling him who we don't like. It looks as if Mustang is actually paying attention. He gets excited when the hubby cheers around when we score a goal and does a dance/run around the chairs and then sits down again. He also lets us put on his Leafs t-shirt every game!

• Story: Spence loooves playing with his toys,his favorite of all time is his beloved tire,we bought him the green toy and he would play with it then put it down and grab his tire then put the tire down and grab the green toy! Well I guess he had enough of that nonsense and decided to put one on his nose and the other in his mouth!! It was pretty funny. Now he does it all the time!

• Story: The way he was sitting and the way he was posing reminded me of the Dark Knight movie picture. Ever since i posted that picture on facebook, my friends starting making jokes about it saying he's waiting for the "Bat Dog" signal to arrive so he can run out and go defeat some bad guys.

• Relationship to image: First vet visit
• Story: My bf gave me my kitten for my birthday and she was sick.. I could tell something wasn't right with her. The guy we got her from was a co-worker of my boyfriend's.. and he did nothing for her while he had her because he didn't want to pay the vet bill. She had goops in her eyes and kept sneezing... We found out at the vet emergency, (yes I brought her right away) that she has Kitty Herpes and will have it for life. (Not the same as people herpers - more like our common cold) She was such a trooper at the vets (from the temperature taking (ouch!), to the medicine in her mouth and her eyes, etc...) but it must have tuckered her right out because as you can see, she just fell asleep on the edge of the couch in my bf's arms as soon as we got home... of course we gave her a few treats too. She sure loves to cuddle now so we like to think we "bonded" with her that night.

P.S. She is super healthy and fantastic... No symptoms at all in case you are wondering how she is doing!

• Story: I had no idea how much personality birds had until I got one for my high school graduation gift 8 years ago. I thought all they did was chirp and poop all day long, boy was I wrong!!! He laughs,cries, smiles at me with eyes, screams at me when I leave the room, he acts like my best friend when I have a bag of potatoe chips or McDonalds french fries, he says "hello Sweetie" when I come home from work, and funniest of all, he's completely in love with himself......he does the wolf whistle to his reflection in the mirror and tells himself what a "Pretty Big Bird" he is!! lol. I love him to death and could'nt imagine my life without him.

• Story: This photo was taken the first day I got to know Igby, after having been away at school. After climbing me and trying to remove my glasses and eat my chain she finally settled down, just long enough for me to scritch her neck and snap this photo.

• Story: This is a picture of my female cat -- Savannah. We found her along with her 6 brothers and sisters underneath our greenhouse. At six weeks old she only weighed 3/4 of a pound and had pink eye in both eyes so bad that they were glued shut. We took her to the vet and gave her lots of TLC. We found homes for all her siblings and the momma. But, we just couldn't give up the littlest one. She now lives in the house with her older brother Benson and her younger brother Tommy. She is the only female cat we have ever had and she is TOTALLY a daddy's girl. Every time I see this picture I laugh. I added it to my screen saver and just love when it comes up.

• Story: My parents own a pet store in Liverpool, Nova Scotia. (on the south shore) Mom decided she needed to have some birds in the store so she ordered some different birds, they came from Toronto. When the birds arrived at the airport my father and I can never keep from opening the boxes to see what the animals look like well before we get them home. The first box had Scooter in it. This had to be the most ugly bird I had ever seen. He was just a baby then. Mom immediately fell in love with him, he wasn't old enough to eat seeds on his own so mom had to feed him with a syringe and mix water with a powder for baby birds. She then had to feed him with this syringe. He was definitely never going to be sold everyone fell in love with him and he has become our pet. He lives at Kameko's Cove and Aquatics (my parents store). He is known as the mascot because he talks to everyone who comes in. His vocabulary is still slim but he can say: Hi, right, love you, mom, and a few more things i cant think of. He is our Prince Charming.

• Story: We have a kennel that breeds papillons, and Aura was one of the puppies that we had for sale. I grew very attached to her quickly, and she to me. The time came when a buyer was coming to see Aura, and possibly take her away. That day, I took many pictures of her, but this one will always be close to my heart, because it's so cute. Anyways, long story short: I couldn't even stay in the room with my wife and the buyer because I had to keep going into the bathroom to cry... she ended up not taking Aura because Aura wasn't friendly with her, and after that I said "That is never happening again. Aura stays." She's over a year old now, and she owns my heart.

• Story: Well, what what I thought was going to be a hard time taking A pic ended up being a hoot and I got 10 cute shotsaltogethter, i thought hey why not a stuffie, i figured she would roll over and ignore me but, all of a sudden she started licking it then cuddling with it i was surprised! and just to share a quick tidbit of Tessa's past i found her last summer in a garden shed at a building I clean for, one of the hottest days of the summer and someone locked her in there, well, i took her home broken tail and skinny and everything and four months later she is happy and getting big!!

I think its so he looks like my husband(always wearing a hat). He even knows where we keeps his little hat when we are in the truck. So when he is laying on the dash and its sunny, he meows till we give him his hat.

• Story: Kisha is 5 months old german sheppard husky mix. At this early age, she knows how to sit, stay, give both paws and bring back the tennis ball. She loves playing with all toys. However, when trying to make a fire she will sometime steal your little peace of wood. She kinda thinks that these should be her toys. Making a fire can sometime be challenging. HIHI!!

• Story: My 15yr Old PitBull and My 17 Month Old Son hamming it Up For The camera. Our Son and Mugsy Are the Best of Buds. Some say Pitbulls are aggressive and upredictable? Mugsy has 15yrs years behind him that says otherwise. He's seen the likes of playing part in raising 3 kids and taking enough pokes, pulls and pinches to make anyone go crazy, but loves everybit of it and takes it like any other bit of attention you give him. He's truely a Pitiful Pitbull and we LOVE him for it!

• Story: when i first got max, i went to a farm where the guy had over 20 kittens he was giving away. i picked one kitten (max's sister, missy) and when i was about to pick her up and take her home, little max came running over and laid beside her and was licking her. it was sooo cute! i couldn't seperate them, so i got them both! max is our friendly little funny man! he loves to cuddle and he's always running around acting silly and making us laugh. i love my little boy!

When we got home we couldn't find Baby Jerry, we were really starting to panic, when I found him all curled up inside my husbands slipper! By the time I got the camera, and snapped the pic he was sitting up looking at me like "Whats the problem Mom?"

• Story: Tiny, cute, and practical. Crag my Pet Rock is talented. She's small enough to be carried in a pocket or tucked away in a tiny moss terrarium. Plus she is good at tricks. You should see her holding a door open or books on a shelf. I purchased her from Etsy and since she became apart of my life it has been nothing but joy. The hours we have spent together at my desk. Me on my computer her sitting in a pile of paper. It feels like just yesterday she was only a pebble but look at her now all grown up and ready to help.

• Story: I work from home and Bunker is always around to keep me company. When she wants something, she will come sit beside me and give me this look. Of course I can't say no to that cute face!!

• Story: Hurley is not allowed to have human food but my daughter is constantly dropping her cookies on the floor while I'm cooking or busy and I can never get to it to pick it up before Hurley gets there. Hurley now sits under her chair (and in this case on her chair, which I don't usually allow) every time she eats just waiting for something to drop... I think he has come to like my DD's cookies better than his own... which could save me a lot of money now that I think of it.... If you go into my contests album in my profile you will see what happened next !!

• Relationship to image: Taken in the sunroom during a rare moment where he actually wasn't moving at 100 miles an hour (although he was just in the process of moving, hence the blurry nose)
• Story: Pluto is a crazy bundle of energy, he mimicks people as he's learning (sure, you can smack him on the nose when he misbehaves, but next time you try it he'll probably smack you first!) but he's also very sweet and cuddly. Currently his favorite job is to drag all the firewood back outside one log at a time after it's brought inside to build a fire. I'm hoping we can teach him to actually drag the firewood INTO the house before winter comes!

• Story: Here is our dog Abby dressed up for her birthday party. We celebrated her birthday with a doggie cake which she shared with my sister's dog Emma, a golden retriever. Abby wasn't too happy to share her birthday gifts with Emma which consisted of a ball and a brand new chewy toy. Abby is a 5 year old female Tzi Shu who is a bundle of energy one minute and the sweetest little cuddler the next. Her best friend is a black and white "tuxedo cat" named Gazou who likes to wash Abby and cuddle with her in the afternoon.

• Story: Some people have indoor cats and dogs We have an Indoor Piggy. She is cleaner then Heck and prefers to sleep under her bed in the living room.Sometimes we will find things that she has dragged to her like towels socks a shoe flyers lol anything .Pricilla will be 2 years old on March 7 and she only weighs about 125 pounds,Right now in that pigture she is begging me for grapes.

• Story: This is my sisters dog, Cassie. She is a half brown lab, half black lab as you can see. She was abused when she was little by the other puppies in the pack and was neglected by her owner. My sister got her for FREE and she is a purebread. When she first got her she was depressed and looked very stressed and sad. She is now looking alot better and me and my sister just cannot get mad at her sad little face when she poos my sis' carpet LOL.

• Story: We love cats and have more than two. These kittens are such a doll and Himalayan kittens are the best and so cute!!! We also have tabbies too. Kittens get into so much mischief though but it is fun to watch them and observe what they do!! These kittens especially love shredding toilet paper, shower curtains and getting into anything that is not nailed down, lol. What will they think of next??

• Story: Atthé, my service dog just had pups. When she went into labor we thought that only two were going to come out. Boy were we wrong! Five little ones came within two hours, and this is the runt, Nappy. DH is holding him in his hands to show how small he actually came out. Three weeks later and we couldn't do this! Now they are all running around and causing havoc. Ah, the joys of puppy parenting!

However, they are coming alot nicely and we're trying to work with them so that they are more personable!! I love this girl, she's very attentive and affectionate

In this one, I was texting someone and she got upset, so she came right up to my phone and started to whine, so I snapped a shot! She is the sweetest thing ever!

• Story: Super Emily is here to save the day... after some belly-rubs that is!! This picture is from Halloween 2008.. I don't have any kids yet so I had to resort to dressing up my fur babies: look here to see the other half of the crime-fighting team, Bat-Fran! At the end of the night, I was trying to take the costumes off, and Emily wouldn't let me until I rubbed her belly.. she really is a giant suck!

• Story: This is a picture of one of the two finches I have. This one's name is Buddy, and the other is named Peggy. Both of them are females, which brings our family to 6 females and 1 male... lol! The birds spend most of their time laying their little eggs.. they are smaller than a dime! In order for hatching, a male would be needed, but I'm not ready for that... yet.

• Story: Tiger is my 14 year old tabby cat. This isn’t just a once and a while thing he always drinks from the toilet everyday. For many years now he will no longer drink the water in his food bowl or any other place but from the toilet. If you look very closely he is sticking out his tongue in the photo as well. The look on his face is as if he was saying “you didn’t have purrrrmission to take my photo”. Guests are shocked when they go to use the washroom and see Tiger drinking from the toilet. Although he is getting older now Tiger is still very activate and likes getting chased around the house and to wrestle as well.

• Story: Ponchik loves getting new toys. Everytime my wife or I give him something he absolutely destroys it in a few hours. Little vinyl sqeaky toys... dead. Little soft plush toys... dead. Finally we found something he couldn't destroy! This is the look on his face after trying for about 2 hours. Unfortunately he eventually won. The poor octopus had unwanted brain surgery as my wife had to stich up a hole in its head.

• Relationship to image: Felix is my cat that I got last Christmas and he is a little over a year old now. He is my baby! My parents got him for me to keep me company and keep me amused while I went through two major back surgeries and recovery from them. He's a very special kitty.
• Story: We usually take pictures of our pets at Christmas time on a Christmas blanket or something but this year I was thinking that I would like to make it a little more fun since I got him as a Christmas gift last year and I wanted it to be special. He has helped me get through two surgeries and recovery so I love him alot. I decided to sew him a Santa hat and bow and hope that he would wear it long enough to take a photo. The night before I took this photo, I put it on him and he was a very grumpy Santa! So I wasn't sure if I could get a good picture. Anyways the next morning I put a blanket on our one chair and put him on it and amazingly when I put the hat and bow on him, he didn't mind. I thought it was so cute that I had to share the photo. I put it on Facebook and friends commented asking me how he allowed me to do that. I just say he is a special kitty because I taught him tricks too! He knows how to sit and beg and is learning a hi 5 trick now. He loves water and baths too. We still wonder what is with that but we have learned to accept it! lol Hopefully people enjoy this photo of him as much as I do! I put it on my desktop and smile when I see it.

• Story: Minnie & Penny were rescued the night of Hurricane Hannah. We live on a somewhat remote country road. One rainy night we heard very faint meows as we were letting the dogs out to do their "business". We sent Shiloh and Stewart (our dogs) to see if they could located the source of the meows. Shiloh managed to lead us to a cluster of trees about 200 feet down the road. There, my wife and I found three black and white kittens. They had been tossed out of a car into a ditch. (Minnie & Penny along with their Brother Merlin who has been adopted by my sister). It breaks my heart to think of what might have happened had we not heard Minnie's cries that night. They are crazy about their big brother Stewart, and their big sister Shiloh (shhhhh don't tell em they're dogs) as well as they Kitty Sister Lily.

These two are usually playing cat and mouse in the house but this fall they started laying in the sun on living room floor every afternoon together. He lays there first then she comes up and cuddles beside for the extra warmth.

• Story: Our curio cabinet was damaged when we moved earlier this year, and my in-laws helped us fix it recently (finally!). We had the mirrored cabinet laying down on its back and, while my mother-in-law fiddled with the top that she had pulled right off, Juliet decided to explore the inside. Juliet is, by far, the most dramatic attention-seeker in our family, so seeing her in this dressing-room-mirror-like image seems perfectly appropriate. Juliet is a star, dahlings!

• Story: We lost our dear Hershey Girl (German Shepard / American Eskimo Mix) a few years ago and we are just not ready to get another dog. We decided to get Guinea Pigs and we are glad we did. They are the funniest little guys. Every morning and afternoon they get a fresh serving of mixed veggies, and when they hear the refrigerator door open they"Wheek" with excitement. Their all time favourite treat is blueberries they climb half way up the cage wall to get them. Henry is the Bossy one, he weighs a couple ounces more than Ollie so thinks he is the king of the cage. They have little battles where they stick their little noses up in the air and who ever gets their nose higher wins; Ollie does hold his own and wins a few "nose" battles. I love watching them "Popcorn"; when they are extremely happy they jump and buck around the cage. Here they are enjoying some parsley.

• Story: Allow me to introduce my two cats; The grey cat is Markey, and the orange/white cat is Butterscotch (AKA butters). Markey is older than me, he was born in 1986 making him 22 years old (I'm only 21). Markey reminds me of a grumpy old man, he'll hiss/bark and swat at you if you bump into him or cross his path and he needs dentures. Markey has lost all but two of his teeth so we've changed him over to soft food, but he still eats the dry food because he's stubborn. If you look at my album, there's another photo of markey sitting with his hind feet sticking out front, the same way we usually find him when we come home from work and he's watching TV. Butterscotch is a much younger cat, he's only five but has plenty of energy. He's the cat that tears up the place and always runs outside. This picture is a completely natural setting for the two cats, they are the best of friends. The two together are like a trainer and a young apprentice, Markey is old and wise and butterscotch has much to learn. I figured I would submit a photo that truly showcases my pets in their natural state, which is why the picture is just after their nap, together as always.

• Story: Well, Heidi is actually a he. I was told at the Superpet that it was a girl, so we named her Heidi. A year later, she developed some lumps and I was worried that something was wrong. Ovarian cancer is very common in young female rabbits, so I took her to the vet to have her examined. It turns out, she is a he and it wasn't cancer I was looking at! In this photo, Heidi is experiencing snow for the first time. She does not look amused, to say the least!

• Story: Moogle was brought into my life 2 years ago. Describe as a "runt" by most people, he became part of our household and takes more room than any of us. It was decided that he might look even better with short hair so here was the result of Moogle's first haircut. He is now considered a Gentleman Dog by most and has "grown" out of his "runt" title.

• Story: Spirit is a little...weird. My cat likes to channel other animals. She can do a pretty intimidating Monkey dance when she wants you to go away, I've heard her bark once...and when we take a shower she likes to sit on the toilet beside the shower and bath herself. Most people think she's crazy, but that's only because everyone likes to get a close look at her and it scares her. She's usually very cuddly and loves to give kisses.

• Story: This is my beloved dog Jack. Jack is quite the character and very lovable. He's never cared for rubber chew toys, bones or sweet treats. No, this guy loves his veggies and will only play with his stuffed bear. He generally goes through one bear a month because he rips out the stuffing and then chews it until it's left in pieces. He never wants you to take the bear from him but he loves it when you pretend you're going to steal it away from him so he can act like a tough guy! The only treat that Jack seems to truly enjoy is red pepper slices. When taken through the Tim Horton's drive thru he is always given a timbit which other dogs would devour in a second but Jack tries to bury it because he doesn't care for sweets!

• Story: My 2 year old cat Tinkerbell drowned in our pool the first of December. My daughter knew I really wanted another kitten, and didn't give up until she found exactly what I wanted. I wanted a fluffy male kitten. The person who we got it from said that she had a fluffy male. We made arrangements to get the kitten. What a sweetie. But when we visited the vet, he was a she. I love her! She is so cute and always getting into trouble. I wouldn't trade her for the world! This is her hiding under the Christmas tree.

My daughter and I are just in love with her, *had* to buy her this cute lil sweater.

• Story: It seems that our four kittens are environmentally friendly. This picture was taken in September of this year with the kittens enjoying a little nap in their beloved Blue Box. They initially were playing in the box, but having a hard time getting in and out of it, so we tipped it on it's side and put a blanket in there, you can see the results for yourself.

My little niece always used to ask about Kitty Timber, Eventually it caught on so he is now called Kitty Timber. In this Picture he looks all innocent and cute, I had just put up the tree and put all the presents there, He is just waiting to turn into his Alter Ego Santa CLAWS and rip all those presents open.

When she heard my mother coming she just layed there looking sort of like she was caught doing something she shouldn't be... which she was.. rolling on the living room carpet covered in peanut butter.. oops

139's album was set to private.
It was explained in the uploading tutorial that it needed to be set to public for people to see the image.
So that's now fixed.
