So of course, Safeway had sunlight laundry packs on sale for $3.99. I had just received 10 $4 off coupons of these bad boys, PLUS 10 for the free sunlight dish soap. Well, holy lord, Mary and Joseph, THIS was by far my most difficult shop EVER.
At first, we go to Safeway thinking this will be a simple in-and-out procedure. We grabbed 10 laundry packs and went over to the dish soap, where it costed more than what the coupon was willing to cover. We thought okay, let's go to superstore...
We get to superstore, they had the laundry soap packs, but no dish soap as it was on sale with bonus points. Good grief.
So then we go to Walmart. They had the dish soap, but no laundry soap!! Apparently it was in sale last week and they hadn't restocked it for the new sales. So we're like "omgggg". So we go to get a rain check thinking it's a sale item because they hadn't taken the old sale sign down. They rejected it saying it was no longer on sale, and they couldn't write a rain check for non sale items.
Literally, I was at the point of giving up, but my fiancée was now on a mission to get this stuff free. Even after me telling her we'll just go back to Safeway and pay the additional $.70 per dish soap and be done with it.
NOPE!
We go to a different superstore in another part of town, and they had everything !! We thought this would be the last trip. NOPE!!! They wouldn't honour the price match as the flyer "didn't show a picture of the sunlight packs" and they "weren't considered a load". Even though Safeway obviously included the pacs in there as well. Like oh my lord, I was cursing by this point. So we leave.
My fiancée finally gives in and we go to the Safeway closest to the superstore we were just at. And guess what? They were sold out of the laundry pacs. I was done, defeated, finito. We got a rain check written at Safeway so we could get them at a later date for that price.
So we take a break, go bowling with mom and sister, and as I was telling my mom this story, she tells me to go to her superstore, (the one she works at). She told me that her co workers were really cool about the whole price matching and coupon thing. We were in the area, so I thought this will be my last attempt.
We go to the third superstore of the day, and sure enough, the lady at customer service said she would honour it. Needless to say, I don't think she realized what she was in for...

Now that I think about it, this could have been done on a different day, but we honestly have set shopping days, and all other days are booked up. Saturdays are basically our only day to ourselves.
Needless to say:
$105 before price matching and coupons.
$9.53 after.
It just totally SUCKS that we have to pay 13% in taxes!!Last edited by Starstabbed; Sun, Apr 6th, 2014 at 03:35 AM.

I feel like we've all been there at some point, but I think most of us would have given up after 2 or 3 tries. Good for you for sticking with it!

The price is just an in store price correct? Not in the flyer? If so what flyer is it in?
