AIR MILES® Toolbar - (currently no AMs offered w/ this)

The Air Miles Toolbar frustrates me to no end.

A few searches qualify. Then, inexplicably, they become invalid. They remain invalid for days.

Clicking on search results doesn't seem to help.

Freecause support suggested I search naturally throughout the day - eventually searches would register again.

That didn't work. I received a message saying I had made too many invalid searches in too short a period of time. My searches would re-qualify again January 2011.

So... what on earth is a valid search?

What terms should be avoided?

How does one not run afoul of the invalid message?

how many invalid searches had you got when it said there were too many invalid searches?

I was doing random searches too earlier and I would get invalid searches.....then i reduced my searches to 5 searches per day and that too about the things i am interested in oe pretend to be interested in so that i click and reclick from atleast one of those search results and click atleast one search result in every search page....

Around 75 to 80 searches were invalid before I was banned from collecting Air Miles until January 2011.

I know better now... if my searches stop counting I won't search for a day or two before trying again.

Maybe my troubles came from searching for similar strings too often... I'm doing a lot of Christmas shopping online this year.

No less, I'm still puzzled and frustrated.

That is annoying since recently my searches do not load, it just shows the broken picture symbol on a white screen and counts it as an invalid search - they need to fix it before banning people
If they are similar search strings, just dont award airmiles for them, why ban someone?

I typically search questions from GSN, 20ish a day and get 1-2 invalids even though they are legit questions

Yes, that happened to me a lot, too.

With each one being invalid it soon added up and helped me become banned. But so did the advice from FreeCause... to continue searching.

Freecause is the culprit for all the problems, its Malware , for years my Airmiles toolbar worked fine , but now I had to uninstall it , coz' it was causing so many internet related problems.

Thanks for replying..I got around 13 in 3 days ...out of the blue...as i was getting valid searches before that

I am getting that broken picture too....but i change browsers when it comes...usually it mends then...I agree about that they should fix their software first


You know the bad search quality and the technical glitches have made me revert to google as my primary search engine again...

the only difference is that now I am doing it the old way...opening up a tab with google.com and then typing in the search query

I have 5 missing air miles from July and October...I've sent emails to them, but have had no response except that they're "looking into it". At this point, I don't think I'll ever see them. Kind of annoying, but...oh, well. Even though the toolbar is frustrating, at times, it's still good for some free air miles, so I keep using it -- I've just revised my expectations that if I get _any_ air miles, it's better than none. :neutral:

Out of curiosity: how do the toolbar miles show up on the Air Miles rundown when you DO get them? I've had the toolbar since October now, and should have received 30 for October, 25 for November and 20 for December, but I'm pretty sure I haven't gotten any yet.

(In case it's not apparent, I share everybody's toolbar frustration heartily!)

No December AM yet (didnt do any in Oct-Nov)
