Thread: Maximum Loadable Value - Shoppers Gift Card?
-
Sat, Oct 4th, 2014, 12:56 PM #1
Does anyone know if there is a maximum amount of cash you can load on your shoppers gift card?
I'm curious, because I intend to spend about 723.00 bucks today on Christmas electronics.
I remember a store clerk once telling me that she cannot load more then 200 bucks, but perhaps that was the most that can be loaded at one time? Maybe you can load 200 bucks on the same card mulitiple times?
Worse case scenario I'll just load up 200 on 4 cards... but then can I use 4 shoppers gift cards on one purchase? I assume so... but you never know.
Anyone have any experience with any of this?

You can use multiple GCs in one transaction (I've used 3 or 4 at one time).
As far as max load - I don't know. I think it would probably depend on store. I could see lower limits, to help prevent against fraud.

You can use multiple shoppers gift cards to pay for a purchase. I do it all the time. Don't know the answer to your other question re: maximum amount on a gift card.

IT was BUSY!!!
I attempted to load a card with 800 bucks... and that definitely didn't work. And seeing as it was very busy, I didn't want to much about to much. So Ended up loading 4 cards with 200 bucks a pop. (I loaded one I carry, and purchased 3 x 100.. and then made a second purchase in too load each of those up with an additional 100 eac... for a total of 800.00)
I'm sure I wasn't liked very much. Especially because most of those cards are don't scan well, except for my luck card which I always hold on to.

Looks like you got this figured out already but here is my experience.
I tried to load $500 to start with but the system didn't allow it. By reducing $50 each time, the system finally let me put $250 per card.
