Just called to get my FREE promo code for the Equifax , Home Depot breach. They just asked my name & nothing else , & gave me the promo code.
I did shop at Home Depot for paint supplies this whole summer. But they didn't ask me anything about it. So I guess they give it to anyone, whether you shopped at Home Depot or not , which is weird.
You get your detailed credit report , credit score , credit inquiries , credit monitoring , credit inquiries everything . The value is $ 200/year , but you get it for FREE , without any further obligation .
STEPS :
1. Call the below numbers for your FREE code
English: 1-866-205-0679 Français: 1-866-466-9577
They will just ask your name & give you a 12 digit promo FREE code.
Do not give any other info like SIN , Credit Card etc ( they won't ask for it anyways ) . They already know about the promo, & straight away they will ask you if you are calling about the Home Depot breach.
2. Go to the EQUIFAX site below & create a user account & enter the FREE 12 digit numeric promo code.

Very Important : DO NOT ENTER your SIN or Credit Card Info when you sign up , above.
Thats it & you are good to go . There is NO obligation after the free trial is up & it won't auto renew.
After 12 months it will expire and if you want to continue , you can give your CC and do that , otherwise you just walk away without any issues.

Thank you. I will call tomorrow and update this post.
***UPDATE***
I was finally able to get the right promo code after a lot of back and forth. The first code was expired so had to call for a second code. Then I went to the wrong site...blah blah blah...user error. Anyways, it works. Thanks OP!Last edited by neelkamalll1979; Mon, Sep 15th, 2014 at 05:40 PM.

A score of 800 is amazing. Its hard to get really much higher then that unless you own multiple properties/businesses and have large amounts of money and everything is perfect

The call goes to a call centre overseas , and just takes a couple of mins.
They will just read of a script for a minute or so , after giving the 12 digit promo code, like go to this site , blah blah..
Basically they tell you what you already know for a minute or so, they are just doing their job , so bear with them for a minute or so , listen to their script and get your promo code and you are done..ha ha.
Then create your free account at the link in the first post.
