I would say I do about 75% of the time but I am from a small town not sure if I would if I was in the big city.

I do if there is eye contact made. Not a full charming smile. More like an acknowledgement smile. lol

I smile alot, doesn't cost anything and seems to make people happy.

I ALWAYS smile if I am interacting with someone else, fellow employee, friend, store employee.

Also, I always smile at 'older' people.

well i think even the bums are usually nice to u they open doors and smile at u, they believe it or not are pretty friendly and harmless!

I somewhat agree. Just like every sort of catagory of human you got your good bums and your not so good bums.
We have a few that hang around my work. One is crazy and always talking to himself a mile a minute but he always has time to say hello and ask how your day is going.
One of the others is always drunk on mouth wash and tells you to give him money or he'll kill you. He's never agressive but is probably just to drunk to be agressive. I don't trust that one at all... so no smiles for him.
