We've had no water (other than the cold tap in laundry room) all day. Can't find a frozen pipe and waiting on a call back from a plumber,I imagine their phones are ringing off the hook this w/end. Feels like we're camping!
Got through to the City - they said "Not us"
Have the heat cranked and taps open and fingers crossed

Good luck Jester. Bet you're so worried about a frozen pipe somewhere.
I too was worried. My kitchen sinks wouldn't drain. They're next to an outside wall. I opened the cupboards underneath, and it was really cold. I was lucky, they drained about 15 minutes later. Guess the water in the elbow had frozen. Whew !!!

Good Luck with the water problem. Yikes!! This is not the kind of weather to have water problems. I hope you get this sorted out in no time.

Bought vs Homemade (it just doesn't get much better than this... note the expression in the picture) Six year old Annie returns home from school and says that today she had her first family planning lesson at school. Her mother, very interested, asks: "Oh... How did it go?" "I nearly died of shame!" she answers. "Sam from down the street says the stork brings babies. Sally next door said you can buy babies at the orphanage. Pete in my class says you can buy babies at the hospital." Her mother answers laughingly, "But that’s no reason to be ashamed." "No... but I can't tell them that we were so poor that you and daddy had to make me yourselves!"

evening Q sters,
wow it is cold today. i wasn't outside, but having to put the recycling in the garage was bad enough. spend the day cleaning & throwing out things that are no longer needed. other clothes items are bagged & really for donation. it's nice to have 1 more day off. next weekend, my family & i are heading to Montreal for my Aunt's & Uncle's 50 wedding anniversary. if you think it was cold here today, Montreal is worse. bringing long johns with me for sure. My cousin is throwing the party, there will be some people we know & some we don't. it will be nice to see them again.

It was -23 this morning when I left for the gym this morning... my van didn't sound good... actually called hubby because I had never heard my van making the noises it was making... I don't remember -23 temps before either!!!
