Thanks 22! Wendark was saying she was going to the CNE today - hope she's having a good time. I went last night and seen good old Herman's Hermits and Paul Revere and the Raiders. The place was absolutely packed, when we arrived an hour before the show there were no seats anywhere, so we stood at the very front of the stage which was better anyways. Peter Noone threw us a CD, which everyone else tried to grab, they broke part of the cover but I got the CD which is fine. He did a great show and is still very popular, got my pic taken with him after the show!Have a good weekend all!

That's 2 cool !!! I've been 2 a few shows there & found the same thing. That would have been fun.

Wendark had a perfect weather day, so I hope she's having a great time !!
Looks like I won't have a chance to go, but that's still up in the air.

Hi Ladies! Yup, I was there ALL DAY/NIGHT on Friday and the weather was absolutely perfect Got there a little later than intended - about 10:15, and left as they were closing up the outside concessions. We had a blast. Here's what we did:
Outdoor vendors; Arts & Crafts building; Illusionist (not that great so we left early); Food building for lunch; hypnotist Terrance B (excellent); over to the Direct Energy building for some shopping (had my hair partly straightened by someone trying to sell me a straightener for $200; had 2 of my nails polished naturally by someone tring to sell me a kit for $25; my friend had a make over done by someone trying to sell her a makeup kit for $450 ); then on to the Superdogs show while my friend shopped at the Outlet stores (she's afraid of animals); a bit of shopping; over to the other end of the building for the ice/arial/trampoline show (amazing!); cheese cooking show (free cheese knife and food, but I couldn't eat it because it wasn't vegetarian); cheese tasting show (yum); Food building for dinner; back to DE building for more shopping until the buildings closed; outside for some games (I won 2 little stuffies and I think I broke even on the money games); roasted corn more games; icecream; and finally home. Phew.

The outside concerts on Friday were not to my taste - all seemed to be heavy metal/head banging music. I mean, come on, I listen to CHFI all day Would love to have seen Paul Revere and the Raiders and/or Peter Noon.

Can't wait until next year.

Hey Wendark, sounds like u had a great time & I do believe u must have been exhausted.

I went too, on Sunday, mostly for the air show. Hadn't seen it in years.
Didn't do much else; some guy stepped on me from behind, lost my balance & twisted my ankle. Couldn't walk much after that. But boy was it ever crowded !!!!

What FANTASTIC weather 4 the last week of the CNE !!!!
Next time I'll go for the shopping & the shows. Glad u had a good time.

I'm glad you ventured out - Friday wasn't as crowded, but then the last weekend is always the busiest with the air show.

You really did fit a lot in at the CNE Wendark! I went to all that stuff too, except didn't get in on the cheese tasting (every other year I have but ran out of time this year). I went back on Sunday, got there at 11 a.m. and left at 12:30 a.m. and the time went so fast....Watched the Rising Star finals at night (took 4 hours) really talented youth and the superdogs that day plus shopping etc. All in all I bought a leather napsac, 2 tops, a bracelet, two rings, necklace with an elephant pendant and another, some sheets and a massager. I like shopping there because you can bargain them down and not pay any tax. I went 5 days in all. I always feel let down when it ends for the season. The day you were there Johnny Max was playing outside in the afternoon - I like him, he does a variety of songs. At night it was Michael White doing Led Zeppelin stuff.

It's good you made it for a day 22 but what a drag twisting your ankle there that's awful. You must have had a hard time getting out of there. I was there that day too and know how crowded it was.
