After enjoying a FREE day at Chapters lego make and take event and mini figure swap with my son Mom went for a little nature walk on her own.....
So I have a confession I am a dumpster diver too :O
I was walking by my local shoppers and hauled ALL OF THIS STUFF from their dumpster for FREE!
it looks like we will be eating alot of yogurt and butter chicken lol
tons on gluten free chocolate chip cookies and heinz snack bars see futer in my family's snacks
amazing find was this wet dry razor everything intact jest the box was ripped.
everything was sealed in a bag I only took what we would use, I didnt make a mess and didnt take anything that looked gross. I did find lots of mother hen's baby food but left for another family. It was a GREAT haul.

Thank you... there was more being thrown out but I could not take it all and I like leaving things for others like me to find. You are right thats crazy that this was being thrown out, imagine how many other stores watse food. Some stores cannot donate expired food so they throw it out. not only drug stores are a good find but You can find lots of wood and other items behind hardware stores too.

agh!! OP I am furious that I have to pay through the nose for those gluten free things and the stores are just tossing them out? How bad are the expiry dates on them? I know I would not ever be comfortable with hopping into a dumpster at my age and physical shape ( I'd get stuck in there most likely ) BUT whatever works for you and if you are sure everything there is safe to eat, then that is essentially free food for you.
I am pretty sure not that many would have had the guts ( or the stomach, some would get ill thinking about it I am sure ) to do it but at the end of the day your OOP is zero $$. So congrats on that!!Last edited by walkonby; Thu, Mar 19th, 2015 at 08:31 AM.
