I live across the street from the Pan Am Stadium in Hamilton for soccer. I can see the games from my bedroom window! Can't wait! If anyone knows of links in regards to Hamilton, please post. Thanks.

My family is also avoiding this like the plague. If only we can just magically disappear for when this whole thing is around, and then re-appear once it's all over.

I'd like to see some of the events but when $$ are available. Hamilton supposedly had a grants program for cultural groups that applied before the end of March for money to offer programs/entertainment during the games.
This is all I can find on the Tourism Hamilton website for the games:

I know the City of Hamilton had a meeting with residents near the CIBC stadium/Tim Horton's field to discuss parking/road closures/permit system about two weeks ago.
From the City of Hamilton site (the new website):

Cool-Ottawa Street will become an International Food court! That's awesome!

Maybe you can check out the Ital Vital resto in your area before the games and report on how interesting the vegan food is. I wish I could eat some today! I definitely need to visit Scarborough this summer and visit outside of the Scarborough Town Centre!

I'd give the restaurant a go but likely would find a bakery later for some dessert!

You'll be thrilled to know that the furnishings for the athlete's village will be sold off after the two games conclude. Here's your advance notice in case you need a washer, sofa, bean bag chair or more:
