I received a letter in the mail yesterday telling me that I have to get a new health card as they are phasing out the old original red & white ones. Oh boy, I guess I'll have to get on that. The new ones have an expiry date & that's something that could represent a bit of an inconvenience for some people down the road. They've given me a month to do this.

Everyone OK today?

i just have to give up my old red and white health card earlier this week. apparently, there's a push on right now to have them all replaced within the next while. mine's good until 2021.

Went to see the preview of NO ESCAPE last night - really well done and keeps your attention for every minute (Owen Wilson, Pierce Brosnan) It was really hot out as I walked downtown around 4 p.m. Half way there my daughter wanted to stop at 711 for a drink and said she'd catch up with me, after a while I stopped to wait as I couldn't see her and waited and waited - I couldn't understand what happened to her and began to think she just left me (she wasn't in a very good mood) She's never done that before but what else could I think, I had to keep going, I felt bad thinking she would just ditch me like that but when I got to the Scotiabank theatre she was waiting outside it! She said she didn't see me either!!! I had stopped at the Eaton Center and sent her an e-mail saying I couldn't believe she would do that to me, but I guess she hadn't............

I gotta go - heading down to the CNE for opening day. See ya all later!

the previews sure look exciting. glad you enjoyed it. might have to trek out to a theatre to see it. it'll probably be better on a big screen.

Probably won't be posting much, @ the hospital most of the time. I was just too tired to stay any longer tonight. My friend's still in critical condition, but he's somewhat responsive, so hopeful.

Thank you everyone for your kind words regarding my new gold heart. I dare say, that I am in very good company. I just checked my email & found this attachment from August of 1970 right around this time of year. She didn't send me the contents of hit parade, but it brought back the memory of the CHUM trailer that used to be just inside the Princes' Gates. I turned 12 in the year 1970 & was still carrying a torch for Bobby Sherman.

Hubby, the kids and I all still have the red and white cards. I remember getting a letter for each of the kids when they turned 16 (7 and 9 years ago), but we ignored them and the kids have been fine since. My daughter went to a walk in clinic a few months ago and was warned that she needs to get her new card, but has been for several appointments since and has been ok. Finger's crossed that it stays that way - at least for a few months!!! Neither hubby nor I have received the warning letter - yet...

I did not sleep well, I tossed & turned,
Caffeine in the evening, you would think I’d have learned,

You can add some fromage & make it cheesy,
I’ll pass on the ketchup, but you go ahead,
I only wish that I could just go back to bed.

Happy Caturday Q sters,
It was a tiring night last night. was hoping to hit the sack early, but it didn't happen. Rodent texted me that a cinder block fell on her foot & she was sure she broke it. She texted a pic of it & it didn't look good. Rushed home from work, got her down to the hospital emerge. had her in a wheel chair while waiting for triage, that took about an hour to get done. 15 mins later they called her for xrays, got that done then had to set in the waiting room till we were called. we were called at 2:15am, saw the doctor by 2:40am & got home just after 3am. guess who had to work today. the good news is, she didn't break her for, just badly bruised it. nothing much they could do except tell her to keep it elevated, ice it & take some advil for the pain.

more thoughts & prayers for your friend's speedy recovery, 22. Just being with him can be the best healing medicine as well as rest.

Just received some real good news. The people that had put an offer in on the house, had the home inspection done on her yesterday & it has passed. The only thing left is for them to sell their house. If all goes well, i'll be moving Nov 10th or possibly sooner. There was some talk about moving up the closing date to mid Oct, but we'll see once their house sells. Guess I better start looking for a place to live now that things seem to be moving forward.
