Wolfie's right Hick's, everyone stops smoking eventually.
It's more fun if you do it while you're still alive.
You can do it! We did .

Tired of hearing the same old, same old?
From newbie :muskaanaml154
Shawn Mendes kicked off with his latest single “Stitches”, a third single off of the young Canadian artist’s debut studio album, “Handwritten”. Handwritten already debuted atop on the US Billboard 200 with sales of 106,000 copies just after a week. The album also involved “Life of a Party”, which was the last year’s Top 40 hit and a leading track “Something Big”.

Hope everyone has a great day! Congrats to all those that have quit smoking! It is quite the addiction and quite a tough habit to break! Well done!
Feeling unknown and you're all alone, flesh and bones by the telephone,
lift up the receiver, I'll make you a believer!
Take second best, put me to the test, things on your chest, you need to confess!
I will deliver, you know I'm a forgiver!

I hope you will be able to quit smoking 22hicks. It would have to come at a time when you are ready & don't let 50 years phase you, my Uncle managed to quit after 60 years. He was 73 at the time & ended up living to be close to 94. How bout that?
It's a non-wintery day out there!
I'm not doing any baking today. Hooray I am done with baking for now. I'll be taking some goodies with me to a family function on Sunday.
The other day at the hospital, I am a bit embarrassed to tell you that I had what can be described as an anxiety attack. I could not focus or get it together. It's an awful feeling I can tell you. I have one more trip coming up to PMH & that will be next week (always on a Tuesday). Then I can concentrate on Christmas-ing in my house.

Good morning fellow Canucks!
I really didn't have a hard time quitting smoking. Quitting at 50 was a nice round number, but I managed to do it at 49. You just have to want to quit.
Also, I didn't tell anyone, except you guys on Smart Canucks. So at home I kept on with my regular routine like going to my smoking room after dinner without lighting up, etc. It took my family about week to figure it out. The only reason not to tell anyone is that in case I fell off the wagon, I didn't want to hear patronizing remarks or lectures from anyone.
Also, for about a month, I kept an open pack of smokes in my coat pocket, just in case. For those times when I got the craving, I would put my hand in my pocket and a few seconds later the craving went away. I guess the psychology for that was I could have one later if I really needed it. By the time I got rid of the open pack, the smokes were crunchy and stale... very unappealing.
I still love the smell. There are times where I would stand in front of a Wal-Mart beside a smoker and breathe in the second had smoke (I know it sounds creepy). But I have haven't had one now for almost two years.
But first, you really have to want to quit.
This was not a lecture or anything. It is what I did to get through it and it really wasn't that bad for me.Last edited by kenrod; Thu, Dec 17th, 2015 at 11:17 AM.
