I was very unhappy yesterday as Rogers increased my rate for cable and Internet and cell phone substantially after 1 year promo ended. Gave them chance to offer better pricing but they refused and treated me horribly... So I called bell and told them what I needed and how much I could afford and they came up with a package costing me $175 which was less than the 193 I was paying at Rogers and even better than Rogers new price of 216.00. Saving 35/month!
Also got new home and auto rates... Saving 80/month.
Excited for extra cash to use towards paying off my husbands OSAP. Goal is to eliminate the little debt left by 2017. If we can pay this off we will be debt free except for our mortgage.This thread is currently associated with: Bell, Rogers (Plus)

Congratulations on your savings. However, we just left B-hell after several nightmare years with them. They sound better than Rogers, but trust me, they're horrible. We're with Cogeco now and couldn't be happier..... well, unless Shaw decides to ever move to Ontario, that is. Until then, Cogeco it is. The only piece of advise I can give you is to keep an eagle-eye on your monthly bills and do NOT sign up for automatic pay. They will fleece you.

@GoJays
Bell and Rogers are equally terrible. I have had bell before.... well my husband has and it was a terrible experience. But bell currently fit my budget. Thanks for the advice tho to check bill.

Great job Erin! We are also leaving Bell after way too many years and will be signing with a company called Start.
Best of luck with Bell. Do keep an eye on your bill, make sure you know when your promotions end and call 2 weeks before to renew or get the next promotion. They don't all end at the same time so I made sure I put on my calendar when to call. Glad to see you are getting your costs down.
Now I have to check with Enbridge and Hydro.

As others have mentioned, watch your Bell bill for surprise charges.
I remember calling them them up once to remove some features I wasn't using and lower my monthly bill. The following month my bill went up rather then down!!!
Friends have shared stories of having mistakes on their bills regularly and spending hours on the phone trying to correct them each month.
Good luck!
