I must go check my HD. I have these on some vents and cheaper ones on others. The others cracked.
Also these vents that I have from HD came in two parts, the metal grille and a plastic insert underneath. For some reason the metal part on one vent in my living room went missing. I asked all household members about this but they look pretty blank about it. How does a heavy metal grille just disappear? I am mystified. However, I am hoping I might grab a sale on them now and replace the one that vanished into thin air.

They look nice, but unfortunately the top metal plates keep getting knocked off the plastic base. The ones I have are not attached well, the 4 tabs on the metal plate are tiny and barely hug the plastic base and the top keeps knocking around on the floor.

It is an issue with some of them, that is for sure. I have older ( ie, ancient) ones, and haven't had problems with them like other people. The ones I need are for bedrooms, so not high traffic areas.
I did find some on sale, but last package and for $15.97. I was quite happy as they have large openings and won't restrict the air. We need them anyway, so ~$6 each all in was better than buying the plain. DH has his contractor adhesive handy in case. Mine that are in the bedroom get abused the worst lol.
I was very ectited when I bought them. There may be a fix with some cement type glue. I have had mine for 2-3 years.
I do like how they look
