I live near a non 24-hr store, and one of the employees told me that the system updates on Friday at 6:00pm for the Saturday sales. Can anyone else confirm this?

Just an aside-I noticed tiny print in a Sobeys Extra flyer about prices taking effect 4am on Friday morning of a new flyer. So that means if a 24h store updates before midnight on Thurs night, then specials take 4h to take effect. It must be to cover the time zone differences across Canada.
So I think there will be a similar policy at Shoppers.2021-Bring on the sunshine, sweets & online shopping.

Sorry forgot to update this. I was unable to find the item I wanted but I went into the store at 10PM and they had updated the cash register but not the shelves.

My local SDM closes at 22:00. I like to shop there around 21:00 on Friday night because the current sale prices are still usually in effect while the next day's sale prices are also in effect. Also, the store tends to put items on clearance on Friday night. If I wait until Saturday morning for clearout deals, early-birds often take them first.

I don't know how everyone else get prices updating the night before. I tried going to my 24-hour location once after midnight, and they told me they have to manually adjust all the prices in their system and it takes them till 8 am, and they said the previous week's flyer was no longer valid during that period either.

Looks like the pharmacist-owners are making their own rules about when to accept the new flyer prices as being in effect.
But Abby1's post might mean due to time zone differences, Ontario stores have to take into consideration the BC stores closing at 9pm so 12am for Ontario.Last edited by Ciel; Sat, Jul 9th, 2016 at 02:47 PM.
