I find that more places take visa than either American Express or Mastercard...
and RBC visa gives me the best airmiles w/ fewer blackout times

I have an airmiles no fee mastercard (student card) that I use. I have never run into a problem with it being accepted anywhere but Costco, where they only accept American express, which also has airmiles. So I got one.
****IMPORTANT****: I only recently found this out about American Express:
There is no one bank in Canada that is 'responsible' for American Express (I beleive Bank of montreal is for most mastercards, my airmiles anyway). Therefore when you go in to pay it, there is a 1$ (or more can't remember) fee applied.... I had paid this a few time before a clerk was kind enough to point it out to me. The 3 airmiles I might get every second month from Costco are not worth the fee to me, so now the card remains unused unless I have an emergency.

I just looked this up...can also use it for student loans and RRSPS...(like the other Futura points)...but..I don't think I qualify because I'm an "unemployed" student:
4. You meet the minimum annual income requirement of $15,000.00.
5. You are not currently unemployed
why dont they just say... 5. you are employed...
double negatives!!!
