I bought a frying pan from Superstore and looked at the receipt before I left. There was an 80 cent electronic fee on it 😮
I went to CS to ask why a frying pan had the fee and the person there just said it was automatic and she couldn't do anything for me. She called the manager for me and he agreed that the fee was ridiculous. So they gave me the 80 cents back and added 5000 PC points to my account as a goodwill gesture. Was totally not expecting that ☺️

That's an eco fee that must be collected. Some stores may choose to pick up and pay the fees themselves. Some stores may bury the fee in the cost of the item so the consumer doesn't see it. Others do as what Superstore does: charge the consumer for it and make it transparent by showing up on their receipts. It must be collected in some way, shape or form.

The receipt clearly said electronic fee. Which component of a frying pan is electronic? I've bought skillets from Superstore before and there was no such fee.

They probably should change their systems to read Eco Fee...however, sounds like they have it as electronic fee since these fees generally started with electronics (tvs, computers, etc.) and then branched into other product areas (electrical products, etc.)....mainly put onto products that many people throw away vs. taking to be recycled.

It pays to look at the receipt some time. I learn here to do this and I did find some mistake. One time at WM was a $10 mistake and that is a lots of money to pay for there mistake. Good for you as any money that don't belong to them is better in your wallet. Thank you for sharing a great brag..................................
