Upper Sherman Avenue (Hamilton), between Stonechurch Rd and the Linc-starting March 7 and ending in November.
The work, which had been pushed for by former councillor Scott Duvall, includes adding a centre turning lane and bike lanes, curbs, storm sewer construction, water main replacement and some sidewalk work.
According to a 2014 traffic count, about 15,000 cars a day travel through that section daily. This thread is currently associated with: N/A2021-Bring on the sunshine, sweets & online shopping.

Opening tomorrow night: Upper Red Hill Valley Parkway exit to Rymal Road East.
http://www.hamiltonnews.com/news-sto...o-open-friday/
Ancaster: Wilson Street West sidewalk repairs and upcoming paving work to end in the fall (in progress now).
We will be introducing these new type of crossings in two locations: Todd Street at Wilson Street by C.H. Bray School; and at the roundabout at Wilson and Shaver Road. The city will be doing an extensive public-education campaign around pedestrian crossovers so I encourage everyone to watch for it. Arterial-road program
I also want to provide an update on our arterial-road program and highlight three in particular:
• Wilson Street – Fiddlers Green to Seminole Road will be completed this fall.
• Wilson Street – Seminole Road to the roundabout at Meadowbrook Drive will begin in Spring 2017 and is considered an ‘urbanization’ project because of features like a bicycle lane, curbs, sidewalks and a dedicated centre turning lane for left-right turns.
• Southcote Road is also an urbanization project that will see design work begin in 2017, utilities installed in 2018 and full construction in 2019.2021-Bring on the sunshine, sweets & online shopping.

Southcote Road, Ancaster-the road closure between Stonehenge Dr and Grey Court should be ending tonight or by tomorrow am, as the sign is still up at Southcote & Golf Links Rd.
@Anna Michele -Rymal can be a bit busy between Garth and Upper Paradise but in front of Bishop Tonnos Park/Stations of the Cross, a turning lane has been put in on the formerly wide shoulder and I expect a decent bus pad/stop is there or will be soon. South side of Garth/Rymal has not had any bus stop upgrades or remedies to the shoulder turning to mud in wet conditions. That is a major need!2021-Bring on the sunshine, sweets & online shopping.

Sidewalk work and entrance paving continues on the Wilson St. West part of Ancaster. One pedestrian island (by the Petro Canada station) is being redone, so pedestrians have to go into the closed right turn lane to get around the work crew. Expect
some traffic delays if heading within 2 blocks west of Fiddlers Green. There's a lane closed in each direction depending how close one is to a work site.
Yesterday there had been some kind of traffic jam on the EB 403 from Wilson St ramp to at least the Fiddlers Green ramp for an hour.2021-Bring on the sunshine, sweets & online shopping.

In Winona:
In a news release, the City of Hamilton indicated the South Service Road, between Fifty Road and Oriole Avenue, will be closed from Nov. 15 to Aug. 31, 2017. Vince Mazza Way, between South Service Road and Winona Road, is also closed. It is expected to reopen on May 30, 2017.
Prepare for intermittent lane closures along the Red Hill Valley Parkway for two weeks starting Monday. New overhead signs are being installed signs that remove all references to Stone Church Road and replace them with Upper Red Hill Valley Parkway, the new road that runs between Stone Church and Rymal.
The public works department says lane closures will take place between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. from Monday to Thursday only and should end by Dec. 2.2021-Bring on the sunshine, sweets & online shopping.

Winona street changes in the pipeline regarding parking in winter, once council approves changes (not yet):

Reason-to give EMS space to move if parking is kept to one side of streets only. Issues occurwhen no EMS vehicle space to park at site of incidents.2021-Bring on the sunshine, sweets & online shopping.

Round 3 for Wilson Street (West), Ancaster, coming in 2017: starting in Feb/March until fall 2017. Cannot locate the article in yesterday's community paper but the Councillor's column explains it too.

Just a note that some roads (Amberly Blvd, Seminole Rd) are school routes and have corresponding 40kph speed zones, should you rely on the roads to detour around any upcoming closures next year to the section of Wilson St. W getting watermain work.

Claremont Access closed until next week. Longer traffic signals on other Mountain accesses.
http://www.thespec.com/news-story/69...ope-movement-/
The Spectator reported in 1971 the city was a pioneer in the use of the retaining walls for an escarpment access in Canada. The walls — some towering up to eight metres high — were bolted into the rock face over a layer of crushed stone."Rock slides won't be a hazard on Hamilton's $11 million Claremont Access," the 1971 article announced.
That guarantee has proven overly optimistic 45 years later. "At this point, I'd say we're approaching the end of (the wall's) useful life," McKinnon said.
He said the short-term priority is to figure out what can be done to safely reopen the downbound Claremont lanes to 22,000-or-so daily commuters.
But the city is also looking ahead to try to determine and cost out a long-term solution for the access. Removing the aging walls, for example, could cost tens of millions of dollars.Last edited by Ciel; Thu, Dec 1st, 2016 at 02:24 PM.

Apparently it is being closed indefinitely they let it detonate far too much now it's beyond repair or at least unsafe to do so
