Bring it to an end. That's why it's always best (unless you've known her for awhile) to just plan for coffee on the first one. If things work well, you can always extend it or do other things. If not, it's easy to cut it short.

Depends on 'sour'.. if there just wasn't chemistry I would stick it out, but likely refuse a second date.. I think just picking up and leaving would be rude. However, of by 'sour' you mean he was a jerk, or hadn't showered that week, or something bad, then yes I would leave early.

Ok.. as for me.. I like prescreening before going on a "real" date..so most likely I already know a bit about the person and some of their values. MSN, e-mail and phone works for "prescreening"
