Oh, no one here scares me, not with my `war wounds`. :P
I guess I`m the only one happy with the heat & humidity (it means I can use my hands normally without pain).
Hope everyone has a good day tomorrow (if not pain-free then at least minimal pain). :flowers:
and I wished it never did.
I've joined the ranks of those who can't sleep because of the pain.
I should've been asleep long ago, but I just want to cry from the pain when I lay down.
I'm hoping this is only temporary, caused by something dumb I did, rather than the orthotics.
Ironically I see a specialist in 8 hours.
So sorry to hear you're in even more pain. Darn. :frown:
If the orthotics are causing you grief, go back asap & have them adjusted. Any place worth its salt will let you go back & adjust them as many times as necessary.
It could also be your body simply adjusting to the change in posture that the orthotics cause (been there a few too many times).
I hope things turn around for you soon. :flowers:
yikesy wykesy, sorry to see/hear about so much pain,
and (the usual - people, relatives don't 'get it')
me - the fibro thingy, and (the doctors love this)
scleroderma.
i don't seem to do anything different - did really like chiro for
a while - got rid of codeine (sort of).
thinking i'm really lucky, or i adapted really well?:flowers:
sorry, i seem to have jumped into the middle
of you two talking,,:flowers:
Why did you stop wearing them? Were they causing you pain?
Trust me, if they say you should wear them, you shouldn't fool around with it (the voice of painful experience talking here).
In the last couple of months (after I *finally* got the new orthotics, after the yr long beaurocratic delay), my back & hips have stopped aching - they were all related to how sloppy my posture was with the old worn out orthotics.
One last thing, whenever you start wearing new orthotics, don`t overdo it. Small time increments is the key, otherwise you`ll be in more pain (again, I`m the voice of painful stupidity here ).
Good luck with the specialist, Skippy. Have you ever had a referral to a pain clinic?
I hope and pray things ease up for you...
Skippy I thought I had posted a good luck at your apt post but apparently forgot to hit the post button , ooops sorry. I have never had orthotics but I'm sure its like everything else takes awhile to get used to so don't overdo it. I hope you're pain soon gets more managable. I am taking my dd to have her stitches out today dr had to break her foot 2 weeks ago and today we find out if its healing correctly.
Oh skippy. It is really hard to see that you are experiencing so much pain. Like others have said, I hope the new medication and orthodics begin to give you some relief. We all know that one of the best things for our bodies and pain levels is sleep, which makes it all the more difficult when the pain is what is keeping you awake.
I am happy to share that I received two new pairs of compression stockings yesterday. I have worn thigh high (30-40mmHg) for nearly 3yrs. I only found out a few months ago that the Sask government will pay for two pairs every six months, becuase they are only guaranteed at that compression for six months. BTW they cost $180 per pair and my university medical coverage will only cover two pairs per year, after I pay for them out of pocket and submit the receipts. So happy to get the free stockings after all this time to help treat the DVT damage.
Saw a foot specialist today who adjusted my inserts more, much to my relief.
Thanks everyone for your input.
