Sulfatrim Allergy

Well, 1 and a half day into my antibiotics and it turns out I am allergic to it. Man! I'm sitting here, itchiest I've been in a long time. Rash on my tummy. Taking Hydroxyzine & Ranitidine combo as med suggested. Glad I didn't just blame it on my regular seasonal allergies. Now tomorrow I've got to try squeeze in another doctor's appointment, before my dentist at 3:30pm. This is going to be fun. Have you ever experienced this side effect on Sulfatrim?

Yes I also didn’t have a good result on sulfatrim...I am allergic to doxycycline and chiprofloxcin. If your allergic to anything sulfa then you won’t be able to take the same along the lines of that antibiotic or family.

Yes, it was a rough night. After a few doses of liquid benadryl combined with my other 2 meds, the rash is almost subsided & I'm not congested anymore. I'm hoping the doctor will just fax a new prescription to my pharmacy! 😷
