Jan 30- Zellers brag and upset

Today I received a trade in the mail [thanks Seajay!] and went into Zellers when my hubby was busy elsewhere.
I found in the 'smelly' aisle, one more wisp candle with an attached Blockbuster free movie rental mail in! Tomorrow is the last day to purchase these by, so I used my FPC from the trade to 'buy' it. So, reg. $9.99... Free!

I also noticed that ALL of the yellow tagged clearance items in store are 40% off, so I browsed some more, and came away with two pairs of pink tights [for my daughter when she goes into dance next year or so] and a pair of training pants [for potty training] for .58/piece! [oh- but looking at my bill, she only rang through ONE pair of tights!... so I guess I got each pair of tights for .27!] These are the items normally packaged in a bag, but put on sale for individual items [or pairs of socks], much like Walmart does.

On the way to the checkout I stopped at Customer Service to redeem some of my points for a $20 gc [wahoo! Thanks to the bonus coupons posted here!]

I went through the checkout with a smile on my face, as my daughter was happy, my husband had just found us, and I was getting great deals! As my cashier was ringing through my items, she says loudly to me "OH- you're the one with the coupons last week". I said "most likely! You'll see me with coupons most of the time." She replied "Well, I shouldn't have taken those coupons last week. I talked about it with other ladies here, and they said I shouldn't have. So, you're lucky I did." [these are the Bic Soleil coupons]
I was a little embarassed because she was talking so loudly, and was a bit relieved that it was so dead in there, but she kept going "Because you bought a package with blades AND a razor, and the coupon was for only the blades. AND, the package you bought was only $4, and the blades are $8!" I replied "Oh, but you see, the packages I bought were a 'bonus' pack, so the razor was a free addition. Normally the package is more than the blades are, but since they're on clearance they were only $4. I did ask at Customer Service before hand, and they said it was ok... I actually bought a few the day before I came through your till!"
She said "yeah, well you weren't allowed to open them either." I was even more embarassed now, because she was making me sound like a thief! I responded "I asked if you'd like me to purchase them seperately, THEN open them, then use the coupon inside to-" She cut me off at this point to re-state what she'd just said. Basically nothing got accomplished but me getting more embarassed and feeling like a thief- I did NOTHING wrong, except perhaps for asking which method she'd prefer! *sigh* So, now my 'high' from getting good deals is gone, and i'm feeling rather upset.

I wish people wouldn't make us feel so crappy for trying to get by [and for crying out loud, they weren't even for me! I'm donating the ones I bought that day]


I'm reeeallly hoping the Blockbuster coupon will come... 'cause if it doesn't i'll be pretty unhappy after the experience 'purchasing' it; my concern with it is that I maxed out my address for the $5gc, and since it's the same company, I'm not sure if they'll like it

Hey Guppy, are you sure the Blockbuster is a mail-in? We purchased tons of products with the stickers attached and we just take them into Blockbuster to use as coupons! I'm sorry about your experience with the cashier, why do they have to be such downers sometimes and she was just downright disrespectful! Lol, at least you have the last laugh with all your great deals and savings in the end!

Yesterday I was at Walmart and I had a $10 olay coupon without exclusions so I go to the makeup cashier and they were some old cranky lady and said it had to be items in picture. So I was like OKAY! I went to another cashier in the regular tills (she saw me and started following me.. creepy but I just proceeded) and the regular cashier let me use them on trials

but I forgot my wallet with my friend (who was quite scared so she waited in the car) so I go over and get my wallet when I come back I see the cranky old lady telling the cashier I couldn't use it and all the junk! Ugh, hate walmart.

But I loved your deals , especially mistakenly not ringing the item in! I'm surprised it didn't beep

MyGuppy don't let it phase you. I had one yesterday who was on a mission to make me feel like crap. She refused to let me use my raincheck and the $2.50 off for the stayfree and after ringing me in I went to look at another clearance rack I had lissed before. It was dead in the store and I could hear her on the phone complaining rather loudly to someone about me wanting to use the raincheck for stayfree for $2.47 and the $2.50 coupons and how she can't take it since it is more than the product and how the company will refuse it because it is more than the product even if it does include tax. (insanely rude to be telling someone on the phone while I am still there to boot)

I swear some of these cashiers think we are taking the $$ from their pockets.

I went to another zellers today and they took it no problems.

No, just take the little Blockbuster form off the candle and go get your free movie! I've been watching movies like crazy this month to get rid of them all. Doesn't even have to be a NEW new release like it states (or they got tired of seeing us LOL).

Some cashiers think they own the store! The Blockbuster coupons are great and tomorrow is the last day to use them. Our Blockbuster has been fantastic to let us use more than one at a time! We have been renting 2 or 3 movies a day all this past week!
